No Apex Legends tier list is complete without an S Tier. These legends just are a step above the rest, providing great individual play that will help you excel no matter who's on the team with you.

Bangalore

  • Passive ability makes her really hard to deal damage to in close quarters
  • Use Rolling Thunder as a means to escape not just engage
  • Open Special Weapon supply bins with Assault Class perks

Bangalore has a lot of protective abilities. Her smokes can help you move around or escape from a situation. Her passive gives you extra speed in fights, helping you turn a corner to either escape or push your enemies. Then her ultimate can buy time, earn space or even counter attack opponents.

A major strength of Bangalore is the Assault Class, which allows her to hold more ammunition and open special weapon supply bins.

Over the last few seasons, Bangalore has been impacted from some nerfs. This included the removal of the powerful Digital Threat optic. However, even despite all these nerfs, Bangalore is still the best legend in the entire game.

Horizon

  • Reposition using their Gravity Lift
  • Always grab the weapon off drop thanks to passive
  • Ultimate can still open fights if capitalised off of

Horizon was hit pretty hard a few seasons ago with a range of nerfs. These included stopping her black hole from impacting players who don't have line of sight on the ult. They also reduced how accurate it is to shoot from inside her lift.

However, her kit still has plenty of value - but just not as much as her prime. You can still use the black hole to deal big damage. Her lift is not really able to generate angles to be aggressive, but it can help you get out of danger. Additionally, it can help reposition and take strong fighting positions which is very powerful.

Her passive can really get you out of danger too, there is some ridiculous movement potential if you learn some of the more advanced mechanics and exploits.

Revenant

  • Take 1v1's with an extra 75HP thanks to Forged Shadows
  • Climb, crawl and leap your way around the arena
  • Scans on low health enemies help you play aggressive and secure knocks

The Reborn Revenant sits in S Tier in our Apex Legends Tier List for his initial ranking.

His Leap is somewhat similar to Vantage's ability and isn't very powerful if you are close to enemies. However his climb, especially the new horizontal wall climb has a lot of potential.

Where Revenant seems to have a lot of power is in his Forged Shadows Ultimate. When taking a 1v1 the extra 75HP is incredibly useful, especially in end game. It can be incredibly frustrating to fight a Revenant with all the extra HP he can have in a fight. Make sure to fight with your team and that extra 75HP really can be the difference in a fight.

Wattson

  • Control open space or bunker down in a building with her fences
  • Pylon can now provide unlimited Shield Healing for the entire team
  • Get an extra 25 HP when inside the zone as a controller legend.

Wattson is excellent at holding down a building. With her Pylon you can rotate at lightning speed, grab a great spot in zone and wait out the rounds. Previously, rushing straight to zone was a bit of a risky play, especially in Ranked when squads tend to die off early. By going straight to zone and grabbing a great spot you lost out on the opportunity to collect all important EVO and level up your shields.

However, the Apex Season 22 Patch Notes brought a big change to all Controller Legends in Apex. Now, whenever you are inside the next zone as a Controller Legend you gain 25 HP for free. That makes your White Shield have the same HP as a Blue, Blue the same as Purple and so on. Now, Wattson is a really powerful legend after these changes.

Conduit

  • Extra shields in fights can help turn an engagement on its head
  • Her passive lets you keep up with your team

Ever since her release, Conduit has been a really strong pick in Apex Legends. A truly support legend, her abilities make her a fun team player in ranked. With her place in the support class, she also has the strong perk of being able to craft expired teammate banners. This is a big reason why she sits in the A-Tier of this Apex Legends Tier List.

Conduit can turn a fight around. Her shield healing can give people the extra health to finish a fight, reposition or pop a heal. The ability to heal herself also makes her a handy player in solo situations.

Her Ultimate can be a little hit or miss in the wide open, however in late games or in confined spaces it is really powerful. The Jammers have a lot of health, so destroying them all bunched up in a corridor is no mean feat and can buy you serious time to reset.

Lifeline

  • Use her abilities in tandem to reset after fights quickly
  • Get bonus loot via her Care Package

Lifeline is truly back to her best in Apex Legends. She has moved from at one point being a D-Tier Legend, to being back amongst the best of the best in the Battle Royale. Her D.O.C Drone is an absolute gamechanger in fights, allowing you to heal super quickly in a pinch.

Then Lifeline also fixes two of the most annoying aspects of Apex Legends. Not having good gear, and getting third partied after winning a fight. Her Supply Drop can deliver game changing loot, including Gold Items once per game. If you select the right Legend Upgrades, her revive can be lightning quick. Combine that with a D.O.C Drone (and a Gold Knockdown!) and you can reset so quickly that third partying is nearly impossible.

Mad Maggie

  • Her Drill can be relentless to teams inside a building or behind cover
  • Wrecking Ball can help you reposition or push a team

Mad Maggie sits in the A Tier of our Apex Legends Tier List as well. She can be an absolute nuisance to play against. If you use Mad Maggie to her maximum, you can make life really difficult for your opponents. Use the Drill to deny space, force their hand and chip away at heals. Then follow up with the Wrecking Ball to breach a position, close the gap or make a quick getaway.

Don't underestimate Mad Maggie's passive either. Shotguns have taken a buff in Season 22, and this makes her movement speed buff with those weapons even better.

Bloodhound

  • Scans provide easy information
  • Passive can help you sniff out rats in Ranked

Bloodhound has been on a real journey in Apex Legends. Once the best legend in the game, then nerfed into the ground, then much stronger after the rise of Bangalore and the introduction of the Legend Upgrade system. Now, they have been balanced out a bit more, but benefit from new Class Perks for Recon Legends.

However, no matter what, information is always valuable in Apex Legends. Sure, Bloodhound doesn't offer easy escape abilities but they can help build team coordination even without verbal communication. The Bloodhound scan provides easy information that your whole team can see. It is simple for everyone to understand. Of course, it's never a negative to have wall hacks in any situation!

Plus, the Beast of the Hunt ultimate can help you catch up to a fight, win a fight or remove yourself from a situation in a flash. It does have less scans than its peak, but the speedboost is still very beneficial in a solo situation.

Mirage

  • Invisibility when you revive can be a great way to reset
  • Decoys can confuse unsuspecting players

Look - Mirage might not actually suck anymore. He's had a range of buffs over time, including via the Class System. He is probably a controversial inclusion in the A Tier admittedly, but he really can be a powerful legend. The fact he can go invisible when he revives a teammate, and that they are invisible for a short time after being picked back up is great to get a reset off.

Then he can cause pure chaos in fights, especially in lower tier games. Decoys can be really hard to distinguish, especially if you "play decoy" when you pop your Ultimate. Mirage is worth a go!

Vantage

  • Snipers Mark deals big damage, and buffs teammates damage
  • Access Ring Consoles via Passive, as well as Survey Beacons through Class abilities

Vantage is another legend, like Mirage and Lifeline, that has risen through the ranks over recent seasons. Respawn keep pouring more and more power into Vantage to try and raise her Apex Legends pickrate from the lower end of the spectrum.

She benefits from the buff to Recon legends, getting threat vision when aiming down sights. Her Snipers Mark, which also got buffed, is especially powerful on the new E-District map too. The variety of heights works perfectly for Vantage. However, what does hold her back a bit is her Echo Relocation. That ability certainly has room for improvement and thats why she sits just on the cusp of B-Tier.

Valkyrie

Valkyrie has it all. A movement ability, check. A damage ability, check. A way to escape sticky situations, check. However, she has been less powerful after the introduction of Evac Towers, but the Skyward Dive is still a strong way to rotate.

Where Valkyrie sits in the game at the moment is as a very all-round solid legend. She has abilities for every situation, but there is almost always a better legend. Her flexibility is what makes her stand out as a very solid choice for your Apex games in Season 22.

Pathfinder

Pathfinder is a really fun legend to play, and has power for you and your team. His Zipline took a really noticeable upgrade a few seasons ago, and is now a pretty valid rotational tool. However, it still isn't ground breaking in every situation. Being able to scan care packages does mean he gets his zipline frequently through the game though.

Where Pathfinder earns his right to be in the B tier is with his grapple. There isn't a better way to escape a situation in the game. Once you are competent with the grapple you can get out of lots of situations, and even very advanced players will struggle to do noticeable damage while you are moving. He also allows you to play aggressively and close the gap to opponents (or teammates that ran off!) quickly.

Catalyst

Catalyst proved herself to be a valiant choice when she released. So strong that she took a series of heavy nerfs, knocking her all the way down from the S-Tier. Now, she sits in a strong spot. However, you have to choose exactly how you want to play Catalyst through her Legend Upgrades. You can choose between upgrades for her Spikes, then Wall.

Overall though, what makes Catalyst so solid is her flexibility. She benefits from the Controller Legend Buff that we already talked about for Wattson. However, Catalyst works fine outside of zone. Her Veil is a great rotational tool and she can bunker down very quickly.

Rampart

Rampart also benefits from the Controller Legend buff. This helps improve how vulnerable she can be in the open. This allows you to lean into her abilities. When used right, these can delay fights and frustrate your opponents. Then, her buffed Shiela can really help you in those 1v1 situations or to quickly third-party unsuspecting teams.

Blocking a door with her wall can buy you those crucial few seconds to pop some heals and spin up your minigun - shooting the door off can catch people by surprise and be a real game changer.

Seer

Seer has been up and down like a yo-yo in Apex Legends. Released unbelievably strong, nerfed, reworked, nerfed, buffed, reworked again. Seer's popularity has perhaps suffered because of the amount of changes he's been through.

Despite all the changes, Seer is still a very strong pick. Just like with Bloodhound, information is key and Seer provides a lot of it very easily. He also benefits from the Recon class buff.

Fuse

Fuse has grown in popularity, particularly as the scans with his Ultimate have become more and more powerful. Sadly the Fuse EVAC Tower bug has been patched which knocks him out of A-Tier. However, his Ultimate is still very strong.

Fuse is also more powerful thanks to how playstyles have evolved in Ranked. With more teams playing hard inside the zone after the Controller Legend Buff, Fuse has grown in strength. The ability to siege teams in a set position with Fuse is incredibly powerful.

Ash

Ash is a bit of a sleeper pick in Apex Legends. She is another legend that has slowly been buffed and now sits in a pretty solid spot. Perhaps least discussed is her passive. This can work in two ways. Either to help you find fights, or avoid the enemies.

Her Arc Snare has been particularly improved and can be a fantastic way to catch an enemy out. Just make sure to follow up a successful Snare with 'Nades, or a swing to take your enemy down.

Her Phase Breach is still lacking, and that is what holds Ash back in this Apex Legends Tier List.

Loba

The advantages of Loba are simple. Her bracelet is a decent escape tool when needed. It's easy to follow and has a poor cooldown, but it can get the job done when needed. Throwing it through windows or small gaps is a pretty underrated feature, so keep that in mind!

Then, her ultimate is a really great way to get the last few items you need. Many players have a few favourite weapons that they feel comfortable with. Loba can help you snag these items and get ready to fight quicker. She is also a great legend for saving your teammates. Loba, or her teammates as of this season, can craft banners thanks to her support class. Unlike Newcastle, Gibraltar, Mirage and Lifeline she can help those teammates reset with her black market.

Caustic

Why is Caustic ranked the lowest of all Controller Legends in this Apex Legends tier list? He undoubtedly has a lot of power in the right situations. However, of all Controller Legends, he is the least flexible. Caustic excels in close quarters fights, with his Gas punishing opponents heavily. But, caught in the open he lacks power. He has a huge hitbox, and his Gas can be easily avoided in the open.

Wraith

Wraith has been on an interesting journey in Apex Legends. She has darted around Apex Legends tier lists over the seasons. In the early days of Apex Legends she was by far the number one legend to play. As a result, she was nerfed heavily over several seasons while at the same time being surpassed by new legends too.

However, she is simply a bit out of date. Her abilities, once ground-breaking, lack some oomph. In particular her Phase can be hard to execute and is easily followed across open spaces.

Alter

Alter has released well into Apex Legends, but still lacks some power. Her abilities seem better on paper than they have proved in game. In particular, her Void Passage can be a great way to break ankles and confuse enemies. Although this is getting less impactful as more players are getting used to her abilities and learning how to counter them.

Ballistic

Ballistic overall has not felt that powerful since he joined the game in Season 17. However, he will do well with the new Akimbo weapons in Season 22. Getting the Hammerpoints on a Mozambique or P2020 through his Ultimate is great use of his abilities. Spend time mastering those weapons.

Newcastle

For team play, Newcastle is a solid legend. Where he excels is at protecting his teammates. There is a really high skill ceiling on his Castle Wall in particular. This has been made even more powerful by the slight buffs he got this season.

But, this ceiling can only really be reached with teamplay and coordination. Plus, Newcastle shines in super sweaty games that we don't really see outside of ALGS.

Crypto

Crypto is a legend with a lot of power - he's used by some of the most successful Apex Legends Pro teams in ALGS.

It's simple. No other legend in the game requires flawless team play like Crypto does. Everything he provides is just weakened without coordination and cohesion. Outside of super sweaty, ALGS style teamplay Crypto lacks power. His ability to remote revive or gather banners is useless if you are playing no fill. If you're solo queue, and your teammates are just brawling around the map, you cannot take full advantage of Crypto's power, even with the latest buffs to his Legend Upgrades. How do you communicate the information you gather without speaking to your team?

If you're a three stacked Ranked team, and want to learn Crypto, he is well worth trying.

Octane

Octane can be insanely fun to play and is a great beginner legend. He has options to be aggressive, or options to get you out of danger. His pad is great for solo or coordinated pushes. Combine that with his Stim tactical and you are absolutely moving around the map at breakneck speed.

His passive lets you heal your flesh health without syringes, helpful if you had to dash into zone to escape. Like Horizon, Octane really benefits from learning some of the more advanced movement techniques like tap strafing too.

However, overall, he just lacks punch and doesn't stand out above any other legends.

Gibraltar

Gibraltar can be a tough legend to play. The largest legend in the game isn't being saved by any superglides or tap strafes if caught in the open. The bubble can protect you, not just by having you play inside it - but also through cutting off angles. Taking disadvantaged fights in a bubble is also a lot easier than in the open, especially once you master bubble fighting mechanics. His arm shield also gives you some extra health, never a bad thing to have! Being in the support class enables banner crafting too.

That's it for our Apex Legends Tier List, we'll be updating it as patches drop but hopefully this will let you hit your placement games hard.
