Atomfall: What are Training Stimulants used for?

Atomfall has a plethora of items you can find and loot all over the different maps in the Quarantine Zone. From regular healing items such as bandages to rare tools like the Signal Redirector, there's a slew of treasures just waiting to be added to your inventory. However, one item in Atomfall doesn't go into your inventory — the Training Stimulant is a rare piece of loot that you might not understand what to do with when you acquire it.

Fortunately, the Training Stimulant has a very real and useful purpose in Atomfall that makes your character much stronger. To see what the Training Stimulant is used for and how to use it, check out the guide below.

A Training Stimulant is essentially the points you use to earn additional skills in Atomfall. Instead of getting points through a leveling system, the game allows you to pick up Training Stimulants and acquire whatever skills you can through the skills menu. The more Training Stimulants you find and loot, the more points you have to spend on skills, which in turn, strengthens your character.

You can find Training Stimulants in every corner of a map in the Quarantine Zone. However, the best places to look for Training Stimulants are on top of desks and inside bunkers or other important military or scientific areas. You'll often find Training Stimulants in groups of two or three, immediately giving you multiple points to spend in the skills menu.

Speaking of the skills menu, that's where you'll use the Training Stimulants you've acquired. The skills menu is accessible through your inventory by tabbing over at the top of the screen. Here, you'll see the four skill trees in Atomfall: Melee, Ranged, Survival, and Conditioning.

You'll also see a variety of skills to acquire, but some or many of the skill slots will be greyed out. This is because you need to find Training Manuals in order to unlock more skills to purchase. Training Manuals are rewards from quests, purchasable through vendors, or simply looted in the world. If you find a new Training Manual, you can choose to "learn" it, and that unlocks a new set of skills in one of the four skill trees.

You can then take your Training Stimulant points and, if you have enough of them, unlock one of the skills. You're able to view how many points you have by looking at the bottle icon on the bottom right side of the skills menu. Then compare that number with how many points it takes to unlock a particular skill to see if you have enough to unlock it.

And that's how to use Training Stimulants in Atomfall. You'll find yourself needing more of them quite often, so exploration is highly encouraged to ensure your character doesn't fall behind.
