Here’s how to unlock the SP-R 208 in MW2 and the best builds.

The SP-R was a fan favorite and one of the best weapons in 2019's Modern Warfare. Instead of waiting for it to be released as part of a season pass this time around, it's in from the start in MW2.

One of the best aspects of the MW (2019) version of the weapon was how quick it was for a Marksman Rifle. Before it was nerfed, it was even better than the irreplaceable Kar-98k.

It's now back and arguably better than it ever has been. It's creating chaos in Multiplayer on MW2.

How to unlock the SP-R 208 in MW2

Unlocking the SP-R 208 in Modern Warfare 2 is actually incredibly easy.

Many of the weapons require lots of steps and levelling of a multitude of other guns in order to use them.

The SP-R is not like that. In order to get your hands on the weapon, all you have to do is get yourself up to Level 7 in Military Ranks.

To check your progress, press the Options/Menu button and check the progression tab. This shows what level of progression you have to your next rank.

The best loadout for the SP-R 208 in MW2

With how good the SP-R 208 can be in MW2, there are a few different ways that you can build it.

Incredibly, one of those was it to use not a single attachment on the weapon.

The no-attachment SP-R still manages to be one of the quickest and hardest-hitting weapons in the game. It simultaneously feels like a Marksman Rifle, Shotgun and Pistol all at the same time.

If you want to slow things down slightly or play on the bigger maps, then the SP-R is still incredibly viable.

The best SP-R 208 loadout in MW2

  • Bolt: FSS ST87 Bolt
  • Comb: Aim-Assist 406
  • Stock: ZRL 170 Pad Extension
  • Optic: VLK 4.0 Optic
  • Barrel: 12.5" Carbon Barrel

It still keeps its speed with the bolt at comb attachments allowing the gun to keep its rechamber speed and mobility. The biggest changes to the way it plays come from the barrel and the optic.

Those two attachments affect how much range the rifle has. It makes it even more viable on modes such as Invasion and Ground War.

If you are confident enough in your aiming abilities than you can take the optic away and go with an extra underbarrel attachment or even an extended magazine.

In the other direction, you can also add a more intense scope to your weapon, making those distance shots easier to hit. Look at the 6-8x scope if you need extra help.
