How to avoid interceptions in College Football 25

Most interceptions in College Football 25 happen as a result of a cornerback or safety jumping a route and getting an easy pick. This happens especially often in PvP games when a user can get a perfect timing user interception. However, there are some things you can do as a QB to avoid getting into these situations. Below are some tips that we would recommend trying if you tend to turn the ball over often.

  • Look for routes towards the outside of the field more often - These routes are much harder to jump, but they aren't over the middle of the field. Therefore, you have to be looking for them. Hitch, out, and corner routes are the ones to look for.
  • Wait for routes over the middle to develop - Mesh routes and others like them sometimes can take time to free up a receiver or TE. Wait a bit before committing to these routes to avoid a linebacker or zone corner from jumping the route.
  • Utilize easy throws like the Jet Sweep pass or screens - One of the best plays in the game is the Jet Sweep pass, and screens can also be super effective. Use these plays occasionally to keep your QB confident and give your HB a breather.
  • Take shots downfield against single coverage - Sometimes, players can be a bit hesitant to go big down the field. These passes, if thrown right, should have a harder time getting picked off and can lead to some big plays when you get them.
  • Don't be afraid to take a sack or scramble - A sack is much less bad than a pick-six, so don't be afraid to throw it away, take the sack, or get out of the pocket when there's nothing open.

With these ideas in mind and a healthy amount of the running game to keep the other team guessing, you should find yourself throwing the ball to the other team far less often. For more College Football 2 news and updates, be sure to stay tuned on esports.gg!
