Vote kick bad teammates in CS2.
Ever seen a vote kick or been vote kicked yourself in Counter-Strike 2 (CS2)? Here's everything you need to know about the mechanic and the way it works.
CS2 is a team based game, but of course most of us don't have a full stack of people to call upon when we fancy hopping on for a few games. That means we are faced with random teammates, and we all know how widely they can vary in quality.
Now, everyone is at a different point in their CS2 journey and skills will vary. However, sometimes you get teammates that are actively making victory impossible for reasons other than skill. You might have a teammate that is blatantly trying to harm the team rather than help.
In those situations, you can vote kick that player from your CS2 match. This is a drastic action to take and you should use it carefully.

Why might you want to vote kick
There are a few reasons that would be suitable for initiating a vote kick in CS2. However, these are of course always on a case by case basis and will be up to the judgement of the players in the game.
Here are some of the most likely reasons:
- AFK and not participating in the game
- Being abusive, toxic or using repeated foul language in the game chat or over voice
- Intentionally griefing by trolling, sabotaging or even team-killing
The last reason is perhaps the most open to interpretation. Each player will have a different view of what is intentional or not. That is why it is a vote.
How many votes does it take to kick?
In order to succeed, a vote kick needs a majority of players to vote in favour for a player to be kicked.

What happens after a player is vote kicked in CS2?
Once that has happened, what happens to that player and the space on the team? In the Casual or Deathmatch modes the player slot is left open, allowing another queued player to join (just not the kicked player).
However, this is different in the Competitive mode. The player will be replaced by a bot. This bot can be controlled by the team, but of course it isn't going to be the same as a human player.
In addition, the kicked player might have further action taken against them. This can include things like a temporary ban. Things like griefing and going AFK are often the cause of someone getting a temporary ban.
