Learn how to get to the high ground.

If you have explored Deadlock's tutorials, you've certainly learned how to mantle. A lot of gamers, however, tend to skip all tutorials and jump straight into matches.

But, if you don't know how to mantle in Deadlock, you'll be missing out on one of the game's most basic and useful mechanics. So, come with us and learn it once and for all to start climbing walls or ledges in Deadlock.

How to mantle in Deadlock and what is it for?

To mantle in Deadlock, all you need to do is hold Space (or whatever is your Jump bind) in front of a wall, ledge, or obstacle. This will make your hero immediately climb the wall, ledge, or whatever that is in the way as long as it isn't super high.

Mantle is especially useful for climbing walls and getting on top of roofs. While you can always find a way into the enemy base by walking, there are times in Deadlock that you'll want to be on the rooftop to launch a surprise attack or even flank behind an enemy.

Heroes such as Grey Talon and Vindicta greatly benefit from this strategy as they don't have the health to sustain a long fight and would benefit from being able to shoot enemies from long range without being seen.

Mantle is also useful to get away from enemies when you're low on health, as they will have to adjust their crosshairs to keep shooting at you—which is definitely more complicated than shooting someone running a straight line.

Now that you know how to mantle, it's time to put this mechanic to use in all your future Deadlock matches.
