It’s worth the grind.

Boss encounters are one of the highlights of Diablo 4 Season 8: Belial’s Return. Not only are there more bosses to fight, but now you can unlock tantalizing Boss Powers and use them yourself.

Endgame bosses have also received a massive overhaul, with each Lair Boss' Hoard chest now requiring a Lair Key to open. One of the deadliest new boss additions this season is the Lord of Lies, Belial, whose Lair Boss Key is called Betrayer’s Husk.

You will need two Betrayer’s Husk to open one Belial’s Hoard. As you might have guessed, it’s not the easiest item to farm. That's why we are here to guide you. Below, you can find all the ways to get Betrayer’s Husk in Diablo 4 Season 8.

All Betrayer’s Husk farming methods in Diablo 4

There are four notable ways to get Betrayer’s Husk in Diablo 4 Season 8. While they are not equally efficient, they are all worth pursuing to farm this precious item.

Slay Belial (Surprise Ambush) or minion form

While fighting a Lair Boss in Diablo 4 Season 8, you may get a surprise ambush from Belial in a more sophisticated form. Defeating it has a chance to drop Betrayer’s Husk. Alternatively, you can fight another variant of Belial in the Apparition Incursion event, in which, if you’re lucky, he will drop a Betrayer’s Husk.

It’s worth adding that we haven’t seen a single drop of this item in Apparition Incursion on anything below Torment difficulty. It shouldn’t be surprising since you can’t face any Lair Bosses until you have reached Torment 1.

Open Whisper Caches

Whisper Caches is one of the best sources of XP and loot in Diablo 4. In Season 8, they are more useful than ever as some unique caches have a chance to contain Betrayer’s Husk. Since you’ll spend plenty of time completing Whisper objectives anyway, this is an easy, if not unreliable, way of farming this boss item.

Claim Season Journey rewards

Like Whisper Caches, Season Journey’s Greater Lair Caches might contain Betrayer’s Husk or other Lair Boss Keys in Diablo 4 Season 8. These have a slightly better chance of dropping Lair Boss Keys than Whisper Caches, but you can earn only a few of these.

Slay Treasure Goblins

Contrary to popular belief, Treasure Goblins are more useful in Diablo 4 than ever before, especially after the most recent March of the Goblin event update. It seems some esteemed Goblins can also drop Betrayer’s Husk. However, keep in mind the chances of them dropping any Boss Lair Keys, even on Torment difficulty, is minimal.

Since it's not the most reliable way to farm these precious items, we don't recommend chasing Treasure Goblins all day long. That said, there’s no harm in slaying if you spot one, right?

These are all the ways to get Betrayer’s Husk in Diablo 4.

What is the best way to farm Betrayer’s Husk in Diablo 4?

So far, defeating Belial’s Ambush variant in Lair Boss fights is the best way to obtain Betrayer’s Husk. He tends to appear frequently in Greater Lair Boss fights, so we recommend running those.

The more Lair Bosses you face, the higher the chances of Belial intruding, and so more chances of you earning Betrayer’s Husk.

Since these encounters can be brutal, we recommend teaming up with a friend or two to improve survivability. What’s more, the more players you have on your team, the more chances of Lair Bosses dropping an extra Unique item, so it all works out in your favor.
