- Unique (Brown)
The different types of equipment call all be found in these different rarities. All of them are applicable to all four equipment types. Here are all the equipment types in Diablo 4 at launch:
Common Rarity Diablo 4
The common rarity is the bottom tier of item in Diablo 4. These are white items that many will find right from the beginning of the game. This is the only time that these items are going to be of any use to players.
Further on than the start of the game, common items can be used as salvage to help progress towards better items in Diablo 4.
Magic Rarity Diablo 4
Magic rarity in Diablo 4 is one step up from white items. These come in blue color schemes but can be deceptively powerful. Each Magic item has one affix.
Affixes are split into prefixes and suffixes in Diablo. They are extra words that are added onto the names of weapons and they bring with them effects appropriate to those names. For example, The Sword of Slaying would have a better damage rate because of the affix added on.
Magic items are going to be worthwhile in Diablo 4 and could even rival the stats of some items above them in the rarity scale.
Rare Rarity Diablo 4
The rare items in Diablo 4 are where things start to get really powerful. Rare items have a yellow color. These items can have between three and five affixes and can get some really powerful boosts on their statistics.
These items can become even better too. Players can upgrade rare items using Legendary Aspects in Diablo 4.
Legendary Rarity Diablo 4
Now these are the items everyone wants. Legendary items are the cream of the crop when it comes to Diablo 4. These items come with four affixes and come equipped with a Legendary Aspect.
These are the best of the best items. They have the best stats and are the most powerful excluding Unique items. Legendaries are limited to your account. Once you have one, you cannot trade it away. Players can also upgrade their Legendaries but only five times.
Unique Rarity Diablo 4
One step above Legendary is Unique. These items are, as the name suggests, individual and one-of-a-kind. You can expect to hardly ever find these types of items. These come with the strongest powers and abilities. But you cannot change them at all.
These items are also not tradeable in any capacity. Also, you can only have one equipped at a time, meaning which slot you use and which unique item will be vital to your build.
