It seems like more and more creators are starting to realize the significance that Fortnite Creative brings to the table. The popular game has become a creative hub for those looking to showcase some of their skills. Popular gaming content creator, TheDonato, is no exception here, as the Latin-American YouTuber is now venturing into the Fortnite Creative scene.
I was able to sit down in an exclusive interview with the creator to get the scoop on what he has got in the works with Fortnite Creative as well as some insight into his content creation career.
TheDonato talks Fortnite Creative, his career in content creation and more
It's not every day you get to have a talk with someone of TheDonato's size. The popular creator has over 40 million subscribers on YouTube and has been pushing out high-quality content for years now.
So how does he do it? And what inspired him?
Q: So first off, let's talk about your content creation career. What
got you started? How did you find success?
A: I always loved playing video games with my brother, but my first YouTube channel (still online if you can find it) was about fingerboarding. Then I moved to all kinds of games until my first views came with Clash Royale. After that, some subscribers wrote about a new battle royale I should try: Free Fire. From the moment I started with Free Fire the numbers wouldn’t stop going up and up and it all moved very fast: moving from Venezuela, starting streaming to new friends!
Q: You're not traditionally a Fortnite player. What made you want to
venture into this game?
A: After years of creating content that could only be viewed by my fans, I decided it was time to take the next step into entertainment: interactive experiences. After researching with my team, we found that Fortnite was the perfect platform for this mission; a great gaming experience with the freedom to create all types of worlds for builders, fighters, roleplayers and more. That said, we searched for the best development studio to partner with and that’s when Surprise Studios came in.
But TheDonato's exploration into the world of Fortnite does not stop there. The popular creator has already designed and released his very own map.

It's always a pleasure talking to creators and hearing what goes through their mind when creating content. For TheDonato, it seemed like his audience's wants were what gave him the most inspiration.
Q: Explain the map to me. I want to know everything about it.
A: My idea was to make something that appeals to my audience and also appeals to the average Fortnite player. Minigames make it easy for people to understand how to play while also being fun and dynamic. We also understand that success within the Fortnite ecosystem is about trends and this type of game has been doing really well recently. So, we created our own - with a faster round system and no wait time while bringing in a ranking system that gives players more reason to continue playing.
Q: What type of tournaments do you plan on hosting?
A: My goal is to create an online monthly event that will gather big and small creators, as well as regular players, all into one. We’ll have some players qualifying because of their high scores on the island. We'll have some players qualifying due to being loyal subscribers and gaining access by viewing my content. All sorts of creators will have a chance to be a part of the big tournaments with many different prizes.
Advice for those trying to make it within content creation and gaming
While talking to someone of TheDonato's stature, you have to ask for tips for smaller creators trying to make a name for themselves. TheDonato's advice did not disappoint.
Q: Do you have any advice for those trying to improve within the
gaming/content creation scene?
A: Now more than ever there are infinite possibilities to create videos, livestreams, vertical content and more. Every day a new platform breaks into the scene creating a new category of content for the creators to show off what they love. My biggest advice: never quit your dreams, because they can easily come true if you put all your passion into them.
