Don’t fight monsters alone – take some friends with you on your Monster Hunter Wilds hunts!
Monster Hunter is a franchise known for its massive monsters, huge weapons, and exploration. While you can enjoy the newest entry into the series as a solo player, your time could be more enjoyable with a friend or two. Whether you have friends already playing Monster Hunter Wilds or you meet some along the way, you'll need to know to join up with those players so you can fight some enemies together.
In the guide, we'll show you exactly how to join up with your friends in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Playing with friends in Monster Hunter Wilds
Fortunately, Monster Hunter Wilds supports crossplay, meaning you can play with any player regardless of whether they're on PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X|S. However, the process of joining up with a friend will depend on what platform they're on.
You can see how to join friends on your same platform and on a different platform below:
Play with friends on the same platform
- Launch Monster Hunter Wilds and from the main menu, select the "Communication" section
- From here, choose the "Invite a Friend" option and your system's friends list will be brought up. You need to have the friend you want to play with added on your platform for this to work
- You can choose to join a friend's party if they're playing Monster Hunter Wilds or invite them to your party
- You can also make an invite link using a QR code with your phone and send that to the friend you want to play with

Play with friends on a different platform
- Launch Monster Hunter Wilds and go to the main menu
- Here, select the "Info" tab, then go to "Hunter Profile," and choose "Toggle Hunter ID"
- This shows you your unique Hunter ID, which you can send to a friend on a different platform or they can send you their ID
- Either way, you can then go to the Communication tab from the main menu, select "Player List," and then choose "Hunter ID Search"
- You can now input your friend's Hunter ID and send them a friend request. Alternatively, a friend can send you a friend request and that can be accepted by going to the "Invite Notification List" section of the Communication tab
- Once you accept the friend request or your friend does, you can go to the Player List screen and invite your friend or join their party

You can use the different platform method for friends on your same platform if you don't want to go through the hassle of inviting/joining them from your system's friends list.
Once you have some friends to invite, you can head into Monster Hunter Wilds and make a Link Party. This can be done by speaking to Alma. A Link Party allows you to send an invite out to everyone in your party to complete a quest. This allows you and your friends to go on the same quests together. You can find all Link Party invites by going to the chat log or using the Invite Notification List in the Communication tab.
You're able to send Link Party invites out before and at any point during a quest, so if you have a friend who starts playing late, they can still join your party even if you've already started a quest. However, that friend won't be able to teleport to you, so they'll have some work to do to catch up to your progress point.
