Many players want to take their Franchise mode online to compete against friends in games like MLB The Show 25.

One of the best parts about sports games is the ability to control a team. In MLB The Show 25, you can start a Franchise playthrough to develop prospects, build your fan base, and take a team to the World Series. Does MLB The Show 25 have an online Franchise mode, though?

That's a question every wants the answer to. It is always a great time playing with your team, trying to perform better than your friends, and boasting about your winning record while they're in a rebuild year. Well, the answer might not be the one you're looking for.

Can you play Franchise online with friends in MLB The Show 25?

There is no direct way through the game to play an online Franchise in MLB The Show 25. If you choose Franchise, every option given is local. You can have multiple teams be player-controlled, but there is no way to give any of that control to a friend on a different system.

San Diego Studios hasn't really given a reason as to why online Franchises were omitted. It's just something we have to deal with. There is, however, a workaround that you can use if you are a bit tech-savvy.

How to play an online Franchise mode in MLB The Show 25

We'll start by saying, no, this is not an ad. This is just a way the writer has played online games with friends via local multiplayer over the years. And if you really, really want to do an online Franchise, this is how you can. Of course, you'll need to take into account any connection issues or input lag.

There is a program called Parsec that is free to use for gaming purposes. Install it, set up a session, and make sure you have a way to stream your system to your PC. Then you can bring friends in with their own controllers connected and play online, but through local multiplayer. Check it out!
