Here is what we know about the new marksman hero Obsidia in MLBB and her potential global release date in the original server.

A new marksman hero in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) has arrived in the advanced server named Obsidia. This hero plays a bit different from a conventional marksman. Her attacks can stack Bone Shards that additionally hits enemies on top of her basic attacks. This means, the longer you fight her, the stronger her basic attacks get.

With that said, here is a quick rundown of the new MLBB hero Obsidia, including an overview of her skills and potential release date.

MLBB Obsidia skills explained based on the advanced server

Passive: Return to Bone

Obsidia’s passive has a lot of effects you need to take note of:

  • Born from the Abyss, Obsidia erodes the bones of her enemies to forge the Bones of Wrath. When Obsidia deals damage to enemy units, she gains Bone Energy, more from skills than Basic Attacks, and more from heroes than non-hero units. When her Bone Energy is fully charged, it forms a Bone Shard, up to a set limit.
  • Whenever Obsidia uses a Basic Attack, all stored Bone Shards strike the target, each dealing Physical Damage and inheriting a portion of Attack Effects.
  • If Obsidia kills an enemy hero, she gains an additional Bone Shard instantly.
  • Her Basic Attacks deal bonus Physical Damage and partially inherit Attack Effects.

One thing to keep in mind here is that her bonus attacks from the Bone Shard will inherit a portion of attack effects. This means effects like Lifesteal from Haas’ Claws, Slow Effect from Corrosion Scythe, or the HP% damage from Demon Hunter Sword will activate more from both Basic Attacks and the Bone Shards. We might also see her use Malefic Gun for the attack range increase.

However, due to her passive, Basic Attacks will not get the full benefit from Attack Effects. It’s a trade off that can be worth it. We’ll never know until the hero’s kit gets finalized. For now, it’s pretty strong.

Skill 1: Abyssal Bone Needle

Obsidia fires a Bone Needle that deals Physical Damage to the first target it hits. If the target is an enemy hero, it triggers Return to Bone.

This is a very straightforward skill. You cast this on an enemy, you can some Bone Energy which can help in stacking up Bone Shards. It has a low cooldown too, so you can probably spam this. Good for wave clearing or poke mechanic in the early game.

Skill 2: Phantom Shadowmeld

Obsidia descends into the Abyss and enters a Shadowmeld state, gaining a massive burst of Movement Speed for a brief moment.

Another straightforward skill. You gain a very brief movement speed boost so you can reposition quickly. The cooldown even gets even lower if your Ultimate is active.

Ultimate: Hunt of Bone

Obsidia fires the Bones of Wrath in a target direction, dealing Physical Damage to the first enemy hero hit and pulling herself close to them. The bones then tether her to the enemy, preventing her from straying too far. The enemy cannot use displacement abilities, and any movement they make will drag Obsidia along for a short duration.

During this time, Obsidia can move through obstacles and perform Basic Attacks while moving. Her Phantom Shadowmeld is also enhanced, lasting longer and becoming available more quickly.

Her ultimate is a double-edged sword. It grants her powerful advantages, such as sticking close to targets and blocking their displacement abilities. However, it also puts her in close quarters with the enemy. If she locks onto a target with strong burst or pick-off potential, Obsidia might end up putting herself at serious risk. It’s best used if you know you will win a fight, or maybe wait for your allies to start the fight for assistance.

When is the release date of Obsidia in MLBB?

It’s too early to tell and Moonton is yet to confirm a release window for Obsidia in MLBB. Additionally, the new hero Zetian also just recently arrived in the game. This means, it will take a few months for the next hero release.

If we go by the formula of MOONTON Games, hero releases are often done once every three to four months. The most recent one is Zetian which was released three months after Kalea. With that said, we can speculate that Obsidia will arrive in MLBB sometime in late September or early October 2025. For now, we’ll just have to keep our eyes peeled for more updates.
