Fix this annoying bug in Oblivion Remastered with one simple action.
The quest "Breaking the Siege of Kvatch" is one quest that most players will interact with in Oblivion Remastered. While it's not a main story mission, it takes place directly around a main character and in the same area as one of the first story quests. During the quest, you need to join forces with the soldiers in Kvatch to take down the spawns from the Gate of Oblivion that opened up just outside the city. However, near the end of this quest, you might encounter the now-infamous "Charge the Courtyard" bug in Oblivion Remastered.
This bug doesn't allow you to progress in the Breaking the Siege of Kvatch quest, and you'll have a hard time completing the next main story quest in the game without progressing it to the end. So, to figure out how to combat this bug in Oblivion Remastered, take a look at the guide below.
Fixing the Charge the Courtyard bug in Oblivion Remastered
"Charge the Courtyard" is what you'll repeatedly hear Savlian Matius say over and over near the end of the quest. After you have cleared out the courtyard in front of the Great Hall of Kvatch, Savlian Matius has a chance to become completely frozen and won't progress the quest for you. This leaves you in a state of flux, as you don't know where to go to finish the quest in Oblivion Remastered.
Fortunately, you can complete the Breaking the Siege of Kvatch quest even while Savlian Matius keeps saying "Charge the Courtyard! Leave none of them standing." To do this, head into the Great Hall door that Savlian is looking at in the courtyard. Inside, you'll find a number of Scamp and Flame Atronach enemies that you need to kill. Once they're dead, head straight up the grand staircase and enter the door at the top of the stairs.

This leads you into a hallway with more Scamp enemies to kill. Dispatch them all and head straight down the hallway through a doorway. Keep going straight, and eventually you'll reach a room called the "Count's Quarters."

Enter the door, kill a Flame Atronach inside, and then find the body of Ormelluis Goldwine lying on the ground next to some chairs. Loot the man's body and pick up his Colovian Signet Ring. This progresses the Breaking the Siege of Kvatch quest and allows you to return to Savlian Matius, who's still back in the courtyard where you left him.

In the courtyard, speak to Savlian Matius and tell him the Count is dead. Matius asks if you were able to recover his Signet Ring. Say you were, and then he'll give you a reward in exchange for your help. The reward is the Kvatch Cuirass, which is a solid piece of chest armor.

After you receive the chest armor, the Breaking the Siege of Kvatch quest is complete in Oblivion Remastered, and you've successfully navigated around the "Charge the Courtyard" bug.
Now that you're finished with that quest, how about finding a horse that you can ride around Cyrodiil in Oblivion Remastered?
