As of Overwatch 2 Season 10, players can no longer get Overwatch Coins by completing weekly challenges. It's now Season 17, and this hasn't changed. However, the Microsoft Rewards method still works. Players can also get Overwatch Coins through the current season's Battle Pass. Read on for details!
How to get free Overwatch Coins
- Visit the Microsoft rewards page
- Press the "Redeem" tab
- Search for "Overwatch"
- Click on the "Overwatch Coins Digital Code" reward
- Set your goal and earn Microsoft Rewards Points
- Collect enough Microsoft Rewards Points for an Overwatch Coins Digital Code
- Go to the Battle.net "Account Overview" page
- Enter the code into the "Redeem a Code" section
Can you still get Overwatch Coins for free?
Yes, you can still get Overwatch Coins for free by redeeming Microsoft Rewards Points. Head over to the Microsoft Rewards page and sign in to your account. Next, click on the "Redeem" tab and search for "Overwatch." Click on the "Overwatch Coins Digital Code" reward. Next, set your goal of how many Overwatch Coins you would like to earn.
How much is 1,000 Overwatch Coins?
- 200 Overwatch Coins = 1,800 Microsoft Rewards Points
- 500 Overwatch Coins = 5,000 Microsoft Rewards Points
- 1,000 Overwatch Coins = 10,000 Microsoft Rewards Points
To obtain 1,000 Overwatch Coins, you must redeem 10,000 Microsoft Rewards Points. At times, other options such as 500 Overwatch Coins for 5,000 points or 200 Overwatch Coins for 1,800 points may be available.

Overwatch 2 Coins in the Battle Pass
As noted, you can also get Overwatch Coins through the Battle Pass. This has been the case since Overwatch 2 Season 10. We're now in Season 17, and this remains true.
"Starting Season 10, you will earn coins as you progress through the Free and Premium tracks of the Battle Pass, making them easier and more consistent to earn," Blizzard stated back in 2024. "We’re also increasing the number of coins you can earn for free from 540 to 600 coins per season."
What are Overwatch Coins?
Overwatch Coins refer to an in-game currency for Overwatch 2 players. These coins can be used to buy a seasonal Overwatch 2 Battle Pass and some in-game items.

- $4.99 USD = 500 Overwatch Coins
- $9.99 USD = 1,000 Overwatch Coins
- $19.99 USD = 2,200 Overwatch Coins (10% bonus)
- $39.99 USD = 4,500 Overwatch Coins (12% bonus)
- $59.99 USD = 6,900 Overwatch Coins (15% bonus)
- $99.99 USD = 11,600 Overwatch Coins (18% bonus)
In addition to getting these Coins via Microsoft Rewards Points and the Battle Pass, you can purchase them in the game itself or the Battle.net shop. It's $9.99 USD for 1,000 Overwatch Coins, which is also the amount needed to get each season's premium Battle Pass.
