Overwatch 2 Season 19 patch notes

According to the developers, the Oct. 14 patch focuses on balancing Overwatch 2's hero perks. The team adjusted them based on pick rates, player feedback, and gameplay data to make each perk choice feel more meaningful. For example, Hazard’s Anarchic Zeal perk now increases his lifesteal to 30%, which is up from 25% last season. Meanwhile, Freja’s Relentless Barrage grants a higher ammo refund and Ana’s Headhunter perk boosts her critical damage multiplier even more. Overwatch 2 Season 19 Stadium patch notes

In terms of the Stadium mode, Season 19 features a major update to ranked gameplay. After three seasons, players have a better understanding of the game mode. Therefore, Stadium can move away from the best-of-seven (Bo7) format. This, according to the developers, keeps the competitive nature of ranked while allowing matches to move at a faster pace.

"We have been happy with the results of the Quick Play format in Season 18 and we want to bring those same wins to competitive," the post stated.

Overwatch 2's game director, Aaron Keller, also went into this on X. "With Season 19, Stadium Competitive will shift to a Best of 5 format," he wrote before the new season dropped. "Our goal is to shorten match length while preserving the depth and decision-making that define the mode. We want every round to feel meaningful and help players get to the fun faster."

All Overwatch 2 Stadium Gadgets

Another major update to Stadium in Season 19 is the introduction of Gadgets. A Stadium Gadget is an active item that grants a bonus ability with a cooldown. A Gadget can be activated using a customizable hotkey as well, and each player can only have one Gadget equipped at a time.
