Starmie EX deck in Pokémon TCG Pocket

The Starmie EX deck is quite easy to build, as many of these cards are not too hard to acquire. Not only that, but it is incredibly easy to use and can dominate the battlefield better than most decks.

All Pokémon cards

When first breaking down this deck, we have to look at all the Pokémon cards included. In our Starmie EX deck build, we included eight Pokémon cards.

First off, we had to include two Staryus, because both are needed to evolve into Starmie EX. While there are a few other variations of this deck, we felt the need to include two Articuno EX cards and two Lapras cards.

All of these Pokémon play incredibly well and can be utilized well with the popular Misty Supporter card.

All Trainer cards

This deck has 12 Trainer cards, which work well with its strategy. First off, we included two Misty Supporter cards, which let you flip as many coins as you can until you get tails. For every heads you flip, you get to attach a Water Energy to a Water-type Pokémon. This helps stack any of your cards.

The other Supporter cards we included are Sabrina and Professor's Research, which help with getting the right cards in your hand and switching your opponent's Active Pokémon with one of their Benched Pokémon.

Finally, we included multiple regular Trainer cards. All of these help the deck in various ways, like healing Pokémon, switching out your Active spot and more.

Weak against

The Starmie EX deck is weak against Electric-type Pokémon. Decks revolving around Pikachu EX or Lt. Surge will be difficult to take on. Trainer cards like Potion were added to this deck to help give your Pokémon a chance at surviving.

Still, with Starmie's ability to go in and out of the Active spot without any Retreat cost, you still have a chance at defeating an Electric-type deck.

Strong against

The Starmie EX deck is strong against Fire-type Pokémon. Whenever you face a deck that revolves around Charizard or Blaine, you know you will be able to take them out quickly.

However, this does not guarantee a 100% win against these decks. Charizard EX's main move, which does 200 damage, is a heavy hitter, and can take out your Starmie EX deck just like that if you are not prepared.
