Knowing how to clear the purple slime mud will make your life much easier in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

If you've walked around enough in Lumiose City, it's almost certain that you've noticed some moving, purple slime mud clogging up roads and entryways in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. The slime is similar to the large boulders around the map, which require the move Rock Smash or another physical attack to get through.

However, the purple slime is a little different, as using Rock Smash on it has absolutely no effect. While you can try to use every move in your team's arsenal to get through the purple slime in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, why not just take a look at the guide below to see what it takes to destroy the gooey substance?

Fortunately, the purple slime doesn't take any kind of special move or rare attack type to clear. All you have to do is attack the slime mud with a Water type move, and it will completely disperse, allowing you to access whatever it was blocking.

The steps to get rid of the purple slime are as follows:

  • Approach the mound of purple slime and bring out a Pokémon that knows at least one Water type attack that deals some kind of damage (Bubble Beam, Water Gun, Surf, etc.)
  • Press and hold ZL to target the purple slime and while holding ZL, use your Water type attack by pressing its corresponding button in the bottom-right of the screen
  • Your Pokémon will approach the slime, use the attack, and then the purple slime will completely disappear
  • If there are multiple slime mounds grouped together, you should only need to use the Water attack once to get rid of all of them. If there's one or two mounds left over, though, just use the attack again
