Get ready for the return of Kangaskhan into Pokémon GO.

Mega Kangaskhan is returning to Pokémon GO in a brand new Raid Day event in May. This will be another chance for Trainers to not only get a Mega Pokémon, but also to fill the PokéDex slot for Kangaskhan if they haven't already. This is because standard Kangaskhan is region locked to Australia. In particular this will be the best chance ever to get this Pokémon in the shiny form for most of the world.

We've gathered all the Raid Day details and bonuses so you can see what's going on and prepare yourself accordingly.

Mega Kangaskhan Raid Day in Pokémon GO

The Raid Day will run from Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.

Just like other recent Raid Day events, this event will grant a brand new move to Kangaskhan. It will be getting a new Charged Attack called Stomp.

Raid Day Bonuses

Here are the bonuses that are going to be active for this Mega Kangaskhan Raid Day:

  • Remote Raid Pass limit increased to 20 from Friday, May 2, at 5:00 p.m. to Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. PDT.
  • Receive up to five additional free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs (for a total of six).
  • Increased chance of encountering Shiny Kangaskhan from Mega Raids.

The odds to get Shiny Kangaskhan should be 1/10, based on previous Raid Days with boosted shiny odds.

Paid Event Ticket

You know the drill by now! The Mega Kangaskhan Raid Day, like usual, will have an optional paid event ticket. This is priced at $4.99 and will grant the following bonuses:

  • Eight additional Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs (for a daily total of 14)
  • Increased chance to get Rare Candy XL from Raid Battles
  • 50% more XP from Raid Battles
  • 2× Stardust from Raid Battles

These bonuses will run parallel with the event times. The $4.99 price tag is worth it if you plan to Raid all day. The extra Raid Passes you get are worth more than the cost of the ticket. Then you get additional bonuses too like extra Rare Candy XL and Stardust. However, if you only plan to do a couple of Raids, you can give this a miss.
