Get ready to take on Mega Sableye in Pokémon GO.

Mega Sableye is back in Pokémon GO Mega Raids until October 28. That gives trainers the first chance to get their hands on all important Sableye Mega Energy since it was last in raids all the way back in June 2023.

Mega Sableye isn't a good Pokémon in Raids. In fact, it might be the weakest attacker of any Mega Pokémon in the entire game. In the mainline games, it was known mostly for its bulk and high defence skills and these do not transfer well to Pokémon GO.

However, its dual Ghost and Dark-type makes Mega Sableye useful in Pokémon GO, when it is at Mega Level 3. For events like the upcoming Halloween event in game, being able to get boosted XP, candy and candy XL for both of those types covers most of the spawns in that event.

So, it's well worth getting your hands on some Mega Sableye Mega Energy. Here's the everything you need to know before you battle Mega Sableye.

Best Mega Sableye counters in Pokémon GO:

Mega Sableye has a weakness to Fairy-type attacks. It has a double resistance to Normal and Psychic-type attacks, as well as resistances to Fighting and Poison-type attacks.

With just one weakness, here are the best Fairy-type attackers in Pokémon GO.

Mega Gardevoir
Charm & Dazzling Gleam
Mega Rayquaza
Dragon Tail & Dragon Ascent
Incarnate Forme Enamorus

Zacian
Snarl & Play Rough

Naturally this list is almost all Fairy-type Pokémon, with a new inclusions of generally powerful Pokémon including Dusk Mane Necrozma, and the three Sinnoh Legendaries in their Primal forms.

You will absolutely want to make sure you have some good Fairy-types to take on these Raids. If you did Zacian Raids recently, it might be time to make an investment into your highest IV Zacian before you battle Mega Sableye in Pokémon GO.

Of course, some budget Fairy-type Pokémon include Togekiss, Florges, Primarina and Clefable. These will also be useful Pokémon if you don't have some of the more premium options.

Can Sableye be shiny in Pokémon GO?

Yes, the Sableye you encounter after the Raid can be Shiny.

How many trainers do I need to beat Mega Sableye in Pokémon GO?

Mega Sableye has quite a hefty defence stat. However, two trainers with high level Fairy-type counters using Party Play can beat this Mega Raid together. We'd suggest aiming for a group of around four to six trainers if you want to beat this Raid comfortably.
