Get set for the Sinnoh Tour.

The Pokémon GO Sinnoh Tour global is finally here this weekend. You can take part on Saturday February 24, and Sunday February 25 between 10am and 6pm in your local time zone. GO Tour events the second biggest event of the year, only behind Go Fest. There is a lot to do and take in across the weekend.

With our tips and tricks, you can make the most of your playtime over the weekend.

Pokémon GO Sinnoh Tour event bonuses

To kick us off, let's look at the bonuses that will be active during the event.

  • 1/2 Hatch Distances for Eggs placed in Incubators during the event
  • Up to 6 Special Trades each day
  • 1/2 Stardust Cost for trades
  • No remote raid pass limit
  • Boosted Shiny rates for Turtwig, Piplup and Chimchar and Stunky as well as Costumed Pokémon
  • Boosted Shiny rates for Hisuian Voltorb, Hisuian Qwilfish, Pachirisu, Chatot and Carnivine

Trainers that bought either of the Road to Sinnoh event passes will also see those bonuses carry over to this event. It must be emphasised that there is not a general boost to Shiny rates in the same was as Community Day, so temper your expectations accordingly.

Prepare your item bag

A key aspect to prepare is to take time to get your bag ready. You want to make sure you have a good supply of Pokéballs. Some of the spawns have pretty low catch rates (especially the Sinnoh starters and Pikachu) so you'll need a lot of balls. If your bag is full, throw away regular Pokéballs in favour of Great and Ultra balls.

You also need to make sure you have enough space for Pokémon. Pre-Pokémon GO Sinnoh Tour is a great chance to clean out your bag. Trade, transfer all those Pokémon you don't need to clear as much space as possible.

Finally, grab any Incubators, Lucky Eggs and Star Pieces that you want to use this weekend if you're prepared to send some coins in the store.

Best Pokémon Spawns in the Sinnoh Tour

Naturally, all the Pokémon spawns this weekend are from the Sinnoh region. They will spawn in one hour slots, defined as habitats. Each habitat will appear twice per day, so four times in total across the Pokémon GO Sinnoh Tour.

You'll also want an incense on, as that will spawn Unknowns.

Crucially, ALL Pokémon can be shiny.

Here are the best spawns to look out for in each habitat:

Bustling Boardwalk (10-11am & 2-3pm)

The most notable spawns in the Bustling Boardwalk are as follows.

  • Luca's Hat Pikachu
  • Dawn's Hat Pikachu
  • Magnemite
  • Starly
  • Electabuzz
  • Ralts
  • Piplup
  • Burmy (Trash)
  • Shellos (East and West)
  • Finneon

Ancient Gove (11am-12pm & 3-4pm)

The most notable spawns in the Ancient Grove are as follows.

  • Akari's Kerchief Pikachu
  • Rei's Cap Pikachu
  • Hisuian Growlithe
  • Eevee
  • Tangela
  • Roselia
  • Turtwig
  • Combee (Gives boosted stardust!)

Toxic Digs (12-1pm & 4-5pm)

The most notable spawns in the Toxic Digs are as follows.

  • Luca's Hat Pikachu
  • Dawn's Hat Pikachu
  • Shinx
  • Gible
  • Cranidos
  • Gligar
  • Sneasel
  • Crogunk

The Toxic Digs is one of the better Pokémon GO Sinnoh Tour habitats. Gligar is an EXCELLENT PVP Pokémon, Gible can evolve into Garchomp that has a powerful mega and Cranidos is a great raid attacker when evolved into Rampardos.

Geothermal Lagoon (1-2pm & 5-6pm)

The most notable spawns in the Geothermal Lagoon are as follows.

  • Akari's Kerchief Pikachu
  • Rei's Cap Pikachu
  • Lickitung
  • Rhyhorn
  • Eevee
  • Togetic
  • Swinub
  • Chimchar
  • Snover
  • Snorunt

However, Geothermal Lagoon absolutely takes the top spot as the best Pokémon GO Sinnoh Tour habitat. There are several good raid attackers in the line up here, Snover and Snorunt evolve into Pokémon that have mega evolutions and there are some decent PVP Pokémon too.

Try and hang onto the Pokémon you catch this weekend. Tuesday's Pokémon GO Spotlight hour will feature 2x transfer candy (between 6-7pm local time) so you can get twice the candy for transferring them away then.

Pokémon GO Sinnoh Tour raids

Spawning in raids are Dialga, Origin Forme Dialga, Palkia and Origin Forme Palkia. The starters, and second evolutions of the Sinnoh region will also be spawning in raids.

The legendary raids in the Pokémon GO Sinnoh Tour are excellent. Here are our in depth raid guides for those Pokémon:

Best Mega Pokémon to use

The best mega Pokémon to use this weekend is Mega Rayquaza by far. Especially if you have one at mega level 3. It will boost the candy rewards from Dragon, Psychic and Flying-types. It also works as a top raid counter in the Dialga and Palkia raids.
