May 2025 has a lot of exciting content in store for Pokémon GO Trainers.
May 2025 looks set to be great start to the new year in Pokémon GO. We have the debut of two exciting new Max Pokémon, Gigantamax Machamp and Dynamax Suicune. There is also a special Raid Day for Kangaskhan as well as some other exciting events.
So, what should you be looking out for in Pokémon GO in May 2025?

May 2025 will see a wide array of Pokémon GO events. Here are the dates for your calendars this month:

May 2025 brings several exciting Pokémon GO events. We've got the Growing Up event, which has boosted shiny odds for several Pokémon. During this event will be the Mega Kangaskhan Raid Day, a great chance to get a shiny of this Pokémon.
There is also our first Team Rocket Takeover for some time, with the Crown: Clash Taken Over event. We aren't sure yet what the new Giovanni Pokémon will be but stay tuned to find out.
Finally, there is an unknown Classic Community Day, as well as the debut of Gigantamax Machamp. This will be a really powerful Fighting-type Pokémon to use in battles going forward.

May 2025 is a great month in Pokémon GO for those who love the Lake Guardians in Pokémon GO, as they return to the game for the first time since the Sinnoh Tour.
In addition, we have the two Gen 7 Guardian Pokémon we have not seen yet. These two Pokémon will have their powerful Fairy-type move, Natures Madness when caught. Tapu Bulu is a very good Fairy-type attacker.

May 2025 Mega Raids in Pokémon GO bring back Mega Houndoom, Mega Altaria and Mega Gyarados into Raids. These are all decent, but not amazing, Mega Pokémon.

Pokémon GO Shadow Raids in May 2025 will see Shadow Regirock back in Raids.
Other highlights this month
As always, there will be a range of Pokémon GO Spotlight Hours in May 2025. One of these will feature Sandygast, which is a pretty rare shiny. This Spotlight Hour, which takes place on May 13, also features 2x Transfer Candy.
