It’s that time of the year again when the Headless Horseman makes his appearance across Roblox games.
This guide will show what the Headless Horseman can do as a Grow a Garden pet, including the ways to obtain it.
As the Halloween season draws near, Jandel and his Grow a Garden team introduced the Ghoul Garden update, which includes the Halloween event. As usual, this event features various new seeds, items, gear, and pets, with the Headless Horseman serving as the main highlight.
Since this pet is currently getting the same treatment as other event-exclusive pets, like the Swan, Chinchilla, and Griffin, you should know how hard it is to get one. Nevertheless, if you’re lucky enough, here are all the benefits that you can reap from using the Headless Horseman.

Headless Horseman’s ability in Grow a Garden explained
The Headless Horseman has an ability that triggers once every 40 minutes. This allows the Headless Horseman to mutate a random pet of at least level 50 in your garden with any of the four chaotic mutations:
- Dreadbound: Gains an additional 6-30 XP per second.
- Soulflame: Boosts the pet’s XP per second by 60% and has a 20-30% chance to turn a nearby fruit.
- Spectral: Adds a 1.08 multiplier to the effects of a pet’s passive.
- Nightmare: Adds a 1.22 multiplier to the effects of a pet’s passive while increasing its size by 125%.
The rarest chaotic mutation that the Headless Horseman can apply is the Nightmare, which works like a cross between the pet mutations Rainbow and Mega.
Judging by its ability, the Headless Horseman is an excellent supplementary pet if you prefer boosting your pets’ abilities rather than farming Sheckles through mutation stacking, which has become mostly irrelevant since most players now have at least a trillion Sheckles to spare.

How to get the Headless Horseman
As a Prismatic pet, you can only get the Headless Horseman by hatching one from the Spooky Egg with a chance of 0.5%. This makes it the rarest pet in the game so far, with the Kitsune being a close second at 0.8%.
You can collect Spooky Eggs during the Halloween Event either by contributing fruits to the Witch and Jack-o-Lantern NPCs or by buying some at the Creepy Critters Shop inside the event island for 30 Candy Corns (the event’s main currency).
If you’re unlucky with the Spooky Eggs you hatch, your last option would be to acquire one through trades. Keep in mind that as of writing this guide, the many players are eyeing the Headless Horseman as well, so be ready to offer some of the rarest pets you have, like a Kitsune, Corrupted Kitsune, or any Divine pet with a rare mutation, such as Rainbow, Mega, or Ascended.
