Here’s everything to know about the game’s Heat System.

The Tekken 8 Heat System can be used to dish out some punishing damage to your opponent. Read on for our guide on how Tekken 8 Heat works and how to execute moves using this in-game system. We go over Heat Burst, Heat Smash, Heat Engager, and Heat Dash as well.

Tekken 8 Heat System explained

When you enter a fight in Tekken 8, there's a blue bar located just below your character's health bar. This is the Tekken 9 Heat gauge. When Heat is triggered, your character can deal more damage. This pertains to dealing chip damage with all of their moves. Your opponent also takes damage from attacks even if they're blocking them.

For example, when you activate Heat Burst to trigger Heat, you can smash your opponent downwards. After this move, you can continuing attacking your opponent with some combos. Note that Heat Burst lets you deal more damage for the duration of 10 seconds.

While Heat is activated, you can perform the Heat Smash move as well. Since Heat Smash is a powerful attack, your Heat will end when you use it. This is in addition to weaving some moves and extra damage in while doing air combos.

Heat Engager is another way to trigger Heat mode. You can activate Heat Engager while hitting your opponent, but the inputs required depends on your character. If Heat Engager hits, then your character dashes towards your opponent and the duration of Heat mode is 15 seconds instead of 10 seconds.

As for Heat Dash, you can use it while your character is in Heat mode to dash towards your opponent. However, doing this depletes the Heat gauge.
