ZZZ’s giving out Polychromes just for playing Soul Hounds!

Zenless Zone Zero's (ZZZ) "Vicious Dog Within" limited-time mode takes Proxies to the Godfinger arcade for some multiplayer Soul Hounds III. This is the second special activity centered around a minigame and has plenty of similarities with last week's "Don't Get Greedy" Snake Duel event.

All participants can earn Polychromes, Boopons, and other awesome rewards from July 29 to August 5. Plus, Snake Duel is one of the only parts of ZZZ with co-op, so you can queue with a friend!

To promote participation, ZZZ has made the "Vicious Dog Within" event very accessible to Proxies. The only two requirements are an Inter-Knot level of 15 and completing the "Scarlet Invitation" Agent Commission.

Once you meet those prerequisites, simply walk over to the Godfinger arcade on Sixth Street. You'll see a yellow prompt to interact with the building's main entrance. Entering will trigger the beginning of ZZZ's "Vicious Dog Within" event.

A few tips and tricks to dominate multiplayer in ZZZ Soul Hounds

Just like Snake Duel, Soul Hounds is a minigame with a lot more depth than it seems. Thankfully, the most challenging content is reserved for single-player, so you don't have to worry about it for now. Here is some general advice to help you get a leg up on most opponents during the "Vicious Dog Within" ZZZ event.

Look ahead. An easy mistake to make is to keep your eyes locked on your character. However, you'll quickly find that ZZZ's Soul Hounds is a very fast-paced game. It's best practice to keep your vision focused some distance below your current position. This will make it much easier to react to the various obstacles and threats within the game.

Move side to side. While the goal of the game is to navigate to the bottom, that shouldn't be the only direction you move towards. Moving side to side to avoid stronger blocks and take advantage of groups of similarly-colored blocks, which break as one, can greatly boost your speed in the long run.

Slow down. This may sound counter-intuitive, but makes a big difference in gameplay. If you're not sure you can out-speed a laser or falling block, simply hold your current position until the threat is gone. Yes, you are technically slowing down, but the time you'll gain from not dying and waiting to respawn is invaluable.

Once you've earned all the rewards from the ZZZ "Vicious Dog Within" event, give Soul Hounds' single-player mode a shot! Apart from being fun, there are many achievements that award the player with additional Polychromes.
