Gambit

The Russian powerhouse organization Gambit has been on the rise since 2020. After some rough placements in 2019 and some roster shuffles, the CIS squad has been gaining momentum with their consistent high placements. When they first got on their streak back in 2020 with 9 top 10 finishes in a row, they haven't led up on the gas. The same year they continued their steamroll with 17 other top 10 finishes.

In 2021 nothing has changed with a rocky start, but now on a 7 top-10 win streak in their latest tournaments and consistent top 10 placements throughout the year. The squad of Tishchenko "Artyco" Artur, Leonid "Leogri3x6" Grishin and slayer finalist Konstantin "Hardecki" Kozlov has put in the work and are not letting up anytime soon.

SCARZ Europe

The SCARZ squad of slayer nominee Mikkel "mande" hestbek, IGL nominee Dan "rpr" Ušić and Can "Taisheen" Öztürk have gone under a couple different banners but always stuck together. The 3 met under the banner of North in 2020, in which they didn't have the best results but still managed to get back to back wins in the ALGS summer Circuit and GLL Masters summer.

After the trio were released from North, together they formed Mikkel, Can & Dan, and were soon picked up by SCARZ EU after winning the ALGS WInter Circuit #1. Under the new banner they managed to qualify for the ALGS EMEA Championships and clutch a beautiful win from the grasps of some of EMEA's best teams. The loyalty these three players have shown to each other is highly commendable and part of what makes them a fan favourite.

Kungarna

Kungarna recently joined competitive Apex earlier this year, but don't let that fool you. The squad comprising of Jake "jmw" Walters, IGL finalist Martin "Graceful" Wongphrom and slayer nominee Rasmus "maydeelol" Zattergren has made quite a name for themselves this season.

Previously competing under the banner Nessy, the squad seemingly came out of nowhere last year, winning ALGS Circuits events and the PGL Showdown. As Nessy the trio placed 4th at the ALGS Summer Circuit Playoffs, 7th at the ALGS Autumn Playoffs and 5th at the ALGS Winter Circuit Playoffs. The trio have kept the momentum with victories at GLL events recently and of course two top 4 finishes at BLAST Titans.

The 10 nominees have been rounded down to only 3 finalists. We will unveil the winner of the Best Team EMEA Award on Wednesday September 8th! So keep an eye on the Esports Twitter account for more finalists and the winners of our Awards!
