OpTic Gaming have announced they are departing Apex Legends. The organisation, that was announced a partnered team for ALGS Year 4, has been in Apex Legends for two years.



Their team, Knoqd, Dropped and Skittlecakes failed to qualify for the ALGS Split 1 Playoffs in Los Angeles. This seems to have been enough for the organisation to lose interest in the ALGS, and they are departing the scene.

OpTic Gaming's fall from grace in Apex Legends



This exit marks a remarkable fall from grace in Apex Legends. Their roster dominated at the ALGS Championship in Birmingham coming a single fight away from taking the title. They finished the finals with more points than the winners TSM, but they couldn't quite close out a match point win.



This seemed to mark a real breakthrough for the OpTic Gaming Apex roster. They had performed well at the Split 2 Playoffs and Split 2 Pro League. However, that was was to be the peak of this team and organisation in the ALGS.

Several changes to Storm Point and multiple meta shifts during the off season seemed to totally kill OpTic's momentum. They struggled across the entire Pro League split, struggling to a 14th place. This was the first time that this roster had missed a LAN event since the arrival of Dropped. 



There had been some warning signs about OpTic's commitment to the ALGS. They failed to sign coach iShiny, reportedly for financial reasons. He went on to join Cloud 9.

This recent split should not cloud OpTic Gaming's legacy in the ALGS. The organisation was responsible for several highlights in the ALGS. Joining the ALGS ahead of the Split 2 Playoffs in Sweden with an iconic announcement teaser, OpTic were a major heavyweight across several

Alter is the next Legend coming to the Apex games. Developers have already confirmed there will be a new legend this season with Alter already showing up in playtest footage, and an seemingly accidental leak on the Season 20 Developer stream.



However, we know very little about what Alter will bring to the table when she arrives, besides a few leaks. Of course, things do change in development and we have seen some last second adjustments to legends before. So, remember that this information is all unconfirmed as things stand.



But, here are what leaks tell us will be Alters Apex Legends abilities in Season 21:

What are Alters abilities in Apex Legends?



According to prominent Apex Legends leaker Osvaldatore Alter will have the following abilities:



Passive: Gift From The Rift - Can remotely interact with a deathbox to claim one item. Cannot be armor.



Tactical: Void Passage - Creates a portal passageway through a surface.



Ultimate: Void Nexus - Create a regroup point that all allies can remotely interact with to open a phase tunnel back to that location.

We do know that according to the developers chat with Game Informer and the leaks from the Season 20 playtest footage that Alter will be a Skirmisher Legend in Apex Legends. That will give her the ability to see what is inside Care Packages before they land. 



What sort of legend will Alter be?



From these leaks, it seems that Alter will be fun and powerful Apex Legend when she arrives in the game. The ability to remotely loot a deathbox has previously only been reserved for Loba's Black Market. Having this ability as a passive on such an offensive legend opens up a lot of opportunities.

Star Alliance controller fragger Miron "Effect" Novikov is in danger of missing the ALGS Split 1 Playoffs. Writing on telegram, the 18 year-old revealed that he had been denied a US visa. This would be the second LAN event that Effect has had to miss, and will be a huge blow to the EMEA side ahead of the event in Los Angeles.



Alliance have not yet named a potential replacement. Battlefy shows that former Alliance player Yuki is still the rosters official substitute. However, Alliance may be able to draft a different player onto the roster ahead of the event starting in two weeks.



Alliance Effect denied US visa



Alliance Effect posted on telegram that he had been denied a US visa. There had not been any indication that there was an issue, with the team practicing and performing well in the Oversight Pro Series warm up event.

Sadly, visa issues are common with esports events held in the United States. The last ALGS event held in the United States in 2022 was plagued by several visa issues. 



EA have taken steps to improve that this time around. Other Russian players like Hardecki, Ojrein and 9impulse of Aurora have all been granted visas ahead of the tournament. Although the action taken by EA clearly has not been enough to help secure Effects entry into the country as of yet.

Moist Esports have also been locked in a high profile visa struggle. The organisation was forced to drop their roster in order to enable them to be able to play at the event after also being denied visas. This is a different situation to the one Alliance Effect is facing.



There are other high profile players who are reportedly also having visa issues. Team Legend's EZFlash has been a notable absence from pre-event scrims, with XSET's Koyful filling in. Team o7's Naghz and Amphyy have also both expressed concerns about getting a visa. Naghz was unable to compete at the 2022 ALGS Championship in Raleigh due to visa

The newest Apex Legend event has arrived. The Urban Assault collection event has been announced for April 23 and brings 25 new skins to the Outlands. The event features a brand-new set of skins and a new mythic prestige skin for Octane. Also included in the event is an all-new tournament system alongside the return of the Three Strikes game mode.

Although the past couple of collection events had a total of 36 items (the Final Fantasy and the Shadow Society event), the Urban Assault one brings the total number back down to the typical total. The Urban Assault collection event has a total of 25 skins, as per the standard that the Apex community is used to. 









The Urban Assault collection event skins are some of the best the Apex community have seen in a while. With a modern, streetwear inspiration, the designers have gone above and beyond expectations. There are featured skins and matching weapons for Loba, Vantage, Rampart, and Valkyrie. Not to mention the Wraith skin that the Apex community lost their mind over when it was leaked. 



We can't forget about the Octane prestige skin joining the likes of other legends like Bloodhound, Revenant, Wraith, Bangalore, and Caustic. This shark-themed skin called Apex Riptide comes with all the prestige skin needs such as it's very own dive trail with fishy friends following Octane and the Death Dive finisher that seems to be the most wombo-combo finisher so far in Apex.

The Apex Legends Urban Assault event also brings two game modes to the fray. The first and fan favorite is the return of the Three Strikes limited-time game mode (LTM). The ALGS has revealed the casters and special guests for the upcoming ALGS Split 1 Playoffs in Los Angeles.



This star-studded lineup features a lot of familiar faces from the recent ALGS Pro League, as well as two guest analysts that will add extra perspectives to the desk in Los Angeles.



Who are the ALGS Casters for the Split 1 Playoffs?



The ALGS Split 1 Playoffs will feature no less than 13 different casters, hosts and analysts across the three days of ALGS action.



WeThePeople returns once again as Stage Host, following his debut at the ALGS Championship in Birmingham. He told esports.gg back in September that the ability to host was "a blessing." 'Peep' was a hit with ALGS fans both in the audience and at home and will be a welcome return to the ALGS caster lineup.

Graceful also returns as a Guest Analyst, having also debuted in Birmingham. He will be joined by Hodsic, who will be part of the ALGS casting team having missed out on qualification with XSET this split. Together they will provide first hand analysis as two of the sharpest minds in the game. The pair add considerable competitive experience to the broadcast.

Joining the stacked ALGS caster lineup is a host of watch parties. There will be an additional chinese watch party at the ALGS Split 1 Playoffs. Roieee will debut in Los Angeles as an official broadcast partner.



NiceWigg and Greek's B Stream has become an integral part of the ALGS experience. EA have already announced that the iconic duo will be at all three ALGS LAN events this year.

Even if you aren't a Swiftie, you probably have at least heard that her newest album, "The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology." Released today, the new record has already pulled in quite a few listeners. One of her songs, though, is called Fortnight. It also features Post Malone on the track. Is it about Fortnite: Battle Royale? Or is it just a coincidence?

Was Fortnight named after Fortnite?



While the lyrics suggest a whole different meaning, the song Fortnight by Taylor Swift does have some lore rumored to be around it. 



The song itself seems to be using the traditional meaning of Fortnight, which is "a period of two weeks." However, rumors have serviced that the song was written about an ex-boyfriend of hers who played way too much Fortnite (if there ever was such a thing).







I wouldn't put this past Taylor. I mean, everyone knows that her songs are usually about ex-boyfriends, and Fortnite is a HUGE game. 



Taylor Swift's new album has a song called Fortnight while the game Fortnite is huge. Coincidence? I think not!



I know what you are all thinking: "Fortnight was literally a word before the game Fortnite came out." Yes. I know. I am not here to act like the word originated with the popular Battle Royale that millions across the globe still play. 



But there is no denying, that since the game's release, many have come to think of the Battle Royale whenever they hear the word Fortnight (Fortnite for the gamers). 







So Taylor couldn't possibly release a song with that title thinking no one would relate it to the game, right? I mean... Post Malone is literally featured on the song. He is an avid gamer who has been seen streaming live on Twitch in the past. It only makes sense!

The insanely hyped Crownfall patch is finally here! Valve releases the massive update today in mid-April  to bring an entire story event revolved around the Skywrath Mage and Vengeful Spirit lore. The third style, "Queen Imperia" can only be unlocked after completing all Main Quests and Side Quests in all four of Crownfall Acts.

How to unlock bonus Arcana style for Skywrath Mage



The Skywrath Mage Arcana has the dark default style that you can purchase for $34.99. But there is a bonus style that colors Skywrath Mage in his natural golden glow and you can unlock this style without no additional cost.







To unlock Skywrath Mage's bonus Arcana style, you must complete the Main Quest in Act IV. We are currently in the midst of Act I and as the event unfolds, we will get to the final phase of the event, Act IV. Complete the Main Quest from Start to Finish in Act IV and you will unlock the bonus Skywrath Mage Arcana style - "Sovereigns of Skywrath."

While Skywrath Mage has an additional Arcana style, Vengeful Spirit has two! The default Arcana style for Vengeful Spirit goes for $34.99 which sees the originally gloomy hero in a new, bright, golden glow. Its second style "Servants of Scree'Auk" portrays the hero in her more natural form with a purplish ambiance. <p>Ballistic's tactical ability Whistler fires a smart bullet from his revolver which if it connects with an enemy will cause their weapons to overheat when fired. If an enemy's overheat meter fills their weapon will malfunction and deal damage.  Whistler's overheating debuff lasts 12 seconds or until the enemy's weapon overheats.</p>
