Genburten and ImperialHal have both shared their side of the story.

The war of words between ImperialHal and Genburten has continued, with both players making a range of claims and counter claims. The row has emerged over the particulars of how, and when, Genburten was informed that he was being dropped from the Team Falcons Apex Legends roster.

The claim from Genburten was that he was in the dark about his future on the roster for a long time. He alleges that his teammates did not tell him their intentions until very close to the ALGS Championship roster lock.

Genburten: "I had no notice"

Speaking on a Twitch Stream earlier in the week, Genburten revealed that he was given no notice about being dropped from Falcons after a poor ALGS Split 2 Playoff performance.

"I don't care that I got dropped. The thing that I'm mad at, or I got mad at, is that I had no notice. I genuinely had no notice that I was gonna get dropped. I found out six days before roster lock. Six days! I didn't find out by my teammates. Guess who I found out by. I found out by iiTzTimmy, my teammates didn't even tell me I was getting dropped."

This led Genburten to DM Hal, asking if what he had heard was true. It seems Genburten's biggest gripe is how little time he had to find himself a new team. For a player of Genburten's quality to miss the ALGS Championship would have been a huge shame.

Of course, he did manage to find himself a team. He has joined forces with iiTzTimmy and Dezignful ahead of the season finale event in Japan.

ImperialHal speaks on Genburten claims

ImperialHal also chose to speak out about the conflict with Genburten on his own stream, responding to his former teammates claims. He says that he and Zer0 were trying to look out for Genburten by not telling him, and Team Falcons, about their intentions.

"Both Zer0 and Gen were in the midst of doing their visas with Falcons. Zer0 was afraid that if we told Falcons too early, they would cancel the visa because obviously the visa costs time, money. Why would they want to do the visa for someone who's not going to be under Falcons?"

He added that they initially planned to wait until the visa process was under way. However, they had to abandon this plan as this was taking too long and time was running out.

There were other concerns that caused further delays, according to ImperialHal. He and Zer0 were also worried that they would not be allowed to drop Genburten. Falcons had to pay DarkZero to aquire the Australian duo, and it was feared they would not be happy to see this investment wasted with Genburten being dropped so soon. If they told Genburten their intentions, and Falcons denied the move, that would have been disastrous for team dynamics.

ImperialHal also revealed that further delays came as a result of who they wanted to replace Genburten. Both Wxltzy and Draugur had to be bought out by Falcons from Moist Esports. Again, these negotiations take time and could fall through.

Rivalry heats up ahead of ALGS Championship.

With a situation like this, both sides probably have validity. Genburten is allowed to feel that he should have been told sooner. However, ImperialHal is also correct that there are a lot of moving parts and obstacles to a roster change like this.

While this argument doesn't seem to be too personal, this does add a little bit of extra spice ahead of the BLGS and ALGS Championship. Genburten has a major point to prove when he goes up against his former teammates.
