Assassin’s Creed Shadows continues to make headlines, as their social media account sends Elon Musk into another spiral.
Is there anything better than a well-run social media account? The answer is simply, no. And this has been proven time and time again. This week, it has been done by the fairly controversial Assassin’s Creed (AC) X account. Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been making waves in the gaming community recently. With one side completely against the game, the other has been loving every second of it.
Of course, Elon Musk needed to have his say, as he always does. But after his Path of Exile 2 (PoE2) debacle, he has now been sent spiraling again. This time, it was done by the hands of the AC X account.
Elon Musk versus Path of Exile 2
In January 2025, an interesting debate arose over the internet. It revolved around Elon Musk and his level 97 hardcore character in PoE2. Most believed that he was not the person playing the character, much like when his Diablo IV character was called into question. Zack “Asmongold” Hoyt, the well-known streamer, was one of those who questioned Musk on his character – which quickly led to frustration from the billionaire.
After comments back and forth, Musk eventually took it upon himself to remove Asmongold’s checkmark on X. Although it was returned later, the petty nature of Musk was quickly revealed.

Assassin’s Creed sends Elon Musk to the shadow realm
While he has been (mostly) quiet on the gaming front, Musk has now put himself into another feud with a streamer. This time, the billionaire has begun commenting on Assassin's Creed Shadows, the new game in Ubisoft’s franchise.
In this exchange, Musk calls out Hasan Doğan Piker, better known as Hasan or Hasanabi. He calls him a “fraud” and a “sell-out” because Hasan has chosen to promote the new game. This is before the AC X account came in like a knight in shining armor, ready to send Musk back to the depths.
The post in question has received a ton of attention, reaching over 35,000,000 views in under a day. It also has over 500,000 likes, as people have flocked to the adoration of whoever the social media manager for the account might be.

Some responses have been amazing, with people asking the X Artificial Intelligence, Grok, about the comment.
Others, in turn, have added in thousands of gifs, laughing or showing their respect to the post. Everyone is waiting to see if Musk shows the same petty reactions as previously, or if he finally accepts his defeat. If anything, his comment and the follow-up have ensured the game gets even more attention.
It is unlikely that this saga will end here, with AC Shadows continuing to do fairly well and people such as Musk wanting to berate the game and streamers who give their opinions on it. Many wonder what game Musk will latch onto next and fake his progress in, but for now, all attention seems to be on Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
