ESL has unveiled the initial matchups for IEM Cologne 2024. The tournament is one of the biggest and most prestigious events of the calendar year.
IEM Cologne 2024 takes place from August 7 and continues for the next twelve days. It comes to an end on August 18 with the winner taking home the majority of the prize pool. With a million-dollar prize pool, IEM Cologne is one of the most contested event of the year.

- paiN Gaming vs Team Liquid
- FlyQuest vs BIG
- SAW vs The Mongolz
The Play-In stage is a double-elimination bracket where all matches are best of three. ESL recently announced changes to the IEM Cologne format wherein the opening matches are no longer best of one. Instead all matches, apart from the Grand Finals.
With Complexity and ALTERNATE aTTaX kicking off things, it will be interesting to fans will be in for a treat. The Play-In STage will send the top eight teams to the Group Stage. The Double-elimination format of the group stage will ensure the best teams move ahead in the tournament.
The IEM Cologne 2024 winner will qualify for IEM Katowice 2025 as well as the BLAST Premier World Finals later this year. The winner receives $400,000 in prize money.
