The ESL Pro League (EPL) Season 22 Playoffs went on from Oct. 10 to Oct. 12. These three days were filled with high-stakes Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports matches.
Every win took teams closer to the trophy. Every loss was a failure with no recovery: it’s unlikely that the 3rd place match could satisfy these guys.

Quarterfinals
- In the first quarterfinal of ESL Pro Leagues Season 22, Team Falcons defeated 3DMAX with a 2:1. The match was close, and 3DMAX managed to take Map 2, Ancient. To win this series, Falcons had to go for overtime on Map 3, Nuke.
- MOUZ won over NAVI with a 2:1. NAVI took Map 1 in overtime, but then MOUZ bounced back. They even stopped NAVI's win streak on Train.
- FaZe Clan defeated Team Spirit with a 2:0. If the first map was nearly competitive, the battle on Mirage was rather one-sided. Just take a look at the stats numbers. FaZe players dominate strongly, and even donk doesn't look like himself.
- Vitality defeated FURIA with a 2:1. They lost Map 1 and had a hard first half on Inferno. On the CT side, Vitality did not let FURIA play the game on both Inferno and Nuke. At the end, the opponents were utterly destroyed.
Semifinals
These are not elimination matches as EPL Season 22 features a battle for the third place. The winners advance to the grand final.
- Team Falcons defeated MOUZ with a 2:0. If it required overtime on Inferno, Falcons' victory on Ancient were much more confident.
- Team Vitality defeated FaZe Clan with a 2:0. The first map was incredibly close, and FaZe won only with 22:20. Then, Vitality woke up and won two maps to advance to the grand final.
Third-place match
- MOUZ defeated FaZe with 2:0. Despite some really good moments, like eco-round wins, and close map score, FaZe couldn't follow the current class of their opponents. MOUZ secures third place at CS2 esports ESL Pro League Season 22.
Grand final
- Team Vitality defeated Falcons with a 3:0. It looked like the opponents had almost no chance, despite the close map scores. With this win, the Team Vitality players become the champions of EPL Season 22!
Legends collide: Tournament preview
All the currently greatest CS2 teams are here. They carry different recent achievements, but most of them are easy tournament favorites — both by expert logic and by betting odds during ESL Pro League S22. Let’s highlight a few participants.
- Despite not winning any tournaments in the second half of 2025, Team Vitality remains an exceptional force. We expect them to recover and bring the Vitality era back — and this can happen with this EPL.
- MOUZ players are obviously tired of being the second team. They certainly can hit hard this time and finally lift a big trophy.
- Spirit declined into a struggle period after two big wins: at IEM Cologne 2025 and BLAST Bounty Fall 2025. During Stage 2 of EPL Season 22, the team showed signs of recovery. Still, we need to check this assumption in matches versus really strong opponents.
- Team Falcons won all their matches in Stage 2, and those were clashes against other top teams: NAVI and MOUZ. There is a good chance this star roster has a synergy boost for EPL Season 22.
However big a tournament the ESL Pro League Season 22 is, the main excitement of the season happens in November — it’s the StarLadder Budapest Major. All the teams from the EPL Playoffs were already invited to the Major.
At the start of November, we can see some of them playing at IEM Chengdu 2025.
