NAVI is waiting.

G2’s scare against Virtus Pro. prior to the Playoffs might’ve lit a fire under the international roster. It seems no-one could stop G2 in their bout vs MOUZ.

MOUZ couldn’t handle the G2's heat and now we’ll see Ilya 'm0NESY' Osipov and Nikola 'NiKo' Kovač reach within stepping distance of the Finals.

G2 vs. MOUZ PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024

  • G2 won map one: Inferno (13-9)
  • G2 won map two: Vertigo (13-6)

This Quarter-Final encounter saw two of the most questionable squads in the Playoffs go head-to-head. The G2 vs. MOUZ matchup was a coin flip.

With Nemanja 'nexa' Isaković joining the G2 roster, their firepower dropped in favor of solid communication. While they haven’t won tournaments like they did with prior line-ups, this is the furthest G2 has gone in a Major in years. As for MOUZ, Ludvig 'Brollan' Brolin’s addition to the squad was never going to fill all the holes that David 'frozen' Čerňanský left—but he’s doing a solid job.

Inferno was a far closer endeavor than the second map, Vertigo. The first map saw NiKo tear through MOUZ alongside an unexpected star CT performance from Rasmus 'HooXi' Nielsen. However, NiKo proved that he still had the ability to tear apart opponents on the big stage—and he’s the main reason G2 flourished on Inferno. NiKo’s high number of first kills put G2 in a solid position to close out the rest of the round. On the MOUZ front, Jimi 'Jimpphat' Salo pulled off some miraculous clutches to keep MOUZ in the fight. But, it wasn’t enough.

As for Vertigo, a solid performance across the board decimated the MOUZ defense. MOUZ only amassed a single round on the CT side. NiKo again pumped out a star performance. However, the rest of the G2 squad managed to lift their level to dampen any attempt at a MOUZ comeback—despite Ludvig 'Brollan' Brolin’s attempts.

This now pushes G2 into the Semi-Final Stage where NAVI will be waiting. Both squads are hot off a solid quarter-final performance. Let’s see if G2’s firepower can take on Aleksib’s IGLing.
