Diablo 4’s new season is fast approaching, but we now have details on the game’s entire roadmap for 2025 and beyond.

Blizzard recently revealed the 2025 roadmap for Diablo 4 (D4), with details on seasonal updates and a peek into 2026. The roadmap shows off the three remaining seasons for this year, which include new content, bosses, items, and dungeons. However, some of the more interesting aspects are two new IP collaborations and the 2026 offering on the way.

Diablo 4 roadmap revealed

Currently, D4 remains in an elongated Season of Witchcraft. Season 7 began back on January 21, before we learned from Blizzard that there would be a short delay with Season 8. Although the details for the delay were not specific, Diablo’s General Manager, Rod Fergusson, explained the situation.

“Hey everyone - In the spirit of serving the game, not the plan, Season 8 will take a couple of weeks longer to bake than we initially anticipated. The team is hard at work on some great updates coming in the next season, so stay tuned. Looking forward to seeing an old 'friend.'"

We later found out that this was referring to the return of Belial, the Lord of Lies. With that, we learned that Season 8 would be released on April 29. Coming with this is a new seasonal mechanic, various new bosses, changes to a few systems, and new items, too.

Not only do we have information on Season 8, but Seasons 9 and 10’s themes have been confirmed by the D4 roadmap. For Season 9, we have the Sins of the Horadrim, before Season 10 takes us into Infernal Chaos. In the D4 roadmap, we see some interesting features being confirmed.

Season 9 is said to be bringing with it “Dungeon Escalation,” while both the upcoming Season 8 and Season 10 both have new IP collaborations confirmed. At the current time of writing, we are unsure if these will be new for D4 itself or new to the entire Diablo franchise.

Many are hoping for the return of some of the previous wing cosmetics from Diablo 3. Speculation aside, these are not the most exciting part of the D4 roadmap.

2026 brings a new expansion

The final part of the roadmap shows a peek into 2026, with a new expansion on the horizon – as well as Leaderboards finally making their way into the game. Once again, we have no real clues as to what the next expansion for D4 may include. Maybe Diablo will finally be in the game titled after himself, or perhaps the Crusader or Paladin dream may still be alive.

We just have to wait through the year to see what Blizzard reveals. Season 8 is the next stop for the D4 roadmap train. We will hopefully learn a bit more about the new IP collaboration before it kicks off on April 29.
