For this event, FISSURE just announced the teams that will play for the different slots they are allocating for each region.

Teams invited to the FISSURE Playground Closed Qualifiers

With the teams and rosters announced for the first three Closed Qualifiers, some rosters have surprised the community. Also, with the absence of multiple Tier 1 teams in this list, we can assume some names like Team Falcons, PARIVISION, and Team Liquid could be directly invited.

WEU + MENA: Secret stronger than ever and Kuroky stays as coach

The WEU region is considered as one of the hardest one to qualify to. Most of the region's Tier 1 teams are not competing for the slot, but MOUZ and AVULUS are still some of the biggest names playing. Despite that, what took the community by surprise is the inclusion of Parker, HEROIC's ex-golden boy.

According to Team Secret's Social Media post, he's only playing the FISSURE Playground Closed Qualifiers as a stand-in.

Americas: Hector "K1" returns!

After leaving HEROIC to take a competitive break, K1 has returned with M80, the ex-Beastcoast. Unfortunately, this means that Yheremi "payk" Arroyo will be LFT until further notice. However, his future could still be with HEROIC, since they have not signed Yuma yet.

On the other hand, NA's situation looks worse than ever, with only one team playing for the region's slot. This means every NA team failed to overcome the Open Qualifiers' stage.

SEA: One more chance for Kukuys

Despite not being able to qualify to the ESL One Bangkok, nor the BB Dacha, Team Kukuys earned the respect as one of the strongest teams in the region. Thus, they didn't need to play the Open Qualifiers this time.

Talent list for the FISSURE Playground Closed Qualifiers

Qualifying to the one-million dollar tournament is as exciting as playing it. Therefore, FISSURE chose some amazing casters for the English Broadcast. They are:

  • Rikumikko "T-Panda" Kangasmäki
  • Nikola "hairy_freak" Babić
  • Lachlan "Ares" Williams
  • Matt "Danog" Joyce

Catch them live on the official English channels!

This will be the first event with FISSURE's new identity

On a press release, FISSURE announced that they will be featuring a "light, modern and notable" new logo and identity. Surely, this will be reflected in every content piece for this Closed Qualifiers and the rest of the tournament.

The new logo focus on the letter "F", which allows them to use a shorter version if the tournament requires it. They will also be using a new color palette, with lime green as their main color.
