FISSURE Universe Episode 5 is only a week away, and we have all the information on the tournament, teams, and format in one spot.

FISSURE Universe Episode 5 is only a four-day event. With a $250,000 prize pool, many of the bigger teams could decide to skip the Tier 2 tournament. However, as we get closer to The International 2025, the meta could shift. With the Play-In Stage of the event already over, we saw a few interesting teams coming out of the woodwork.

However, with the Esports World Cup 2025 on the way and PGL Wallachia Season 5 already on the go, some big names have stepped up. With the direct invites now sent out, FISSURE Universe Episode 5 is set to be an amazing tournament.

Below is everything that you need to know about the upcoming FISSURE Universe Episode 5, including the schedule, teams, format, and where you can catch all the action.

Although the tournament only kicks off at the end of June, FISSURE Universe Episode 5 has technically already begun. From May 12 to 18, 10 teams fought through the Play-In Stage. From these teams, only two made it through to the main event.

The Play-In Stage kicked off with a best-of-two Group Stage, which saw four teams eliminated. The top three of each group advanced to a double-elimination playoff. The two teams left standing qualified for the main tournament.

The biggest surprises during the Play-In came from both OG and MOUZ. MOUZ, after recently returning to Dota 2 once again, were unable to make it through the Group Stage. Likewise, peers OG scraped by but lost twice in a row in the playoffs and were eliminated.

Format

The main tournament will run the same way as the Play-In. Starting with two groups of five teams, they will fight in a best-of-two round-robin format before the top three advance into the playoffs.

The Playoff Stage will see the top six seeds in a double-elimination bracket with a twist. The top two seeds will be the only teams starting in the upper bracket, while the remaining four will play for a single spot in the lower bracket final against the loser of that upper bracket match.

All playoff matches are best-of-three, with the grand final a best-of-five.
