It will be available with Crownfall Act 4.

The International 13 has brought in a surprise for Dota 2 fans by announcing a new hero to join the Dota 2 ranks. The broadcast revealed the first glimpse of Kez, head of the Kazurai order and the leader of the Flightless.

All about Kez, the new Dota 2 hero

The broadcast showed a trailer for Kez just before the grand finals match between Team Liquid and Gaimin Gladiators. We have minimal details just yet, but the trailer gives us a glimpse into what to expect with the new hero. Kez is a birdlike character that has fast movement and deals damage with its sword. The new hero is seen jumping around objects and it might have movement abilities similar to Pangolier.

Is Kez a core or a support?

Kez uses a sword to deal immense damage to enemies. As such it seems to be like a hero that will revel with farm and some crucial levels. The new hero does seem like it has a lot of damage with adequate positioning and movement. Kez is most likely a core, although Valve has not revealed what role it will most likely play in the games.

There were rumors of a new hero with Crownfall Act IV’s release and it seems Kez will take on that role. Dataminers had also predicted a new Juggernaut persona that might add some glamour to the Crownfall Act IV.

When does Kez release?

Kez will be released on Nov. 7 with the launch of Crownfall Act IV. The hero will play a crucial role in the fight with Queen Imperia, marking its first play in Dota 2.

The Crownfall Act IV release date was not made public (despite some speculation), but a Nov. 6 comic and subsequent blog post revealed the next day, Nov. 7, would be when Kez and Crownfall Act IV arrives. Originally, Act IV was set to land in late October.
