Neon Esports cease operations: Leaves the Dota 2 scene

The SEA organization decided to exit the Dota 2 scene after 2024’s mixed results.

The South East Asian Dota 2 scene received the nighttime with sad news. Neon Esports, a Dota 2 team founded in 2017, ceased operations and disbands their roster effective immediately.

The team had a very complicated 2024, with Games of the Future as their most successful tournament. Despite earning the sum of $35,000.00 USD, this was their biggest income of the year. After that, they failed to qualify to every ESL Pro Tour tournament.

Did Neon Dota 2 roster disband?

While results weren't there for them, they had big moments together. They beat some of the biggest teams in their region, made it to Games of the Future quarterfinals, and were the RES Regional Series #2 semifinalists.

However, it's unlikely that the team will stick together as an independent stack. Travis "Castaway" Waters, the team captain, announced he's looking for a team; and joked about disbanding.

Neon Esports announced their exit after losing the Elite League Season 2 closed qualifiers to TNC Predator: The team that would later lose the grand finals to Execration. This is their 2024's complete list of results:
