Old G picks up Aramis and acquires DPC slot from PuckChamp

Old G returns to the Western Europe DPC by acquiring PuckChamp’s slot.

It's heated in WEU DPC at the moment as Old G pulled a literal buyback into the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC). The popular stack had just been disqualified from WEU DPC following Ceb's sharp remarks against PGL. But they found a backdoor and acquired PuckChamp's slot in Western Europe's Division II. The squad also signs Israeli player, Aramis as Old G part ways with Resolut1on.

Old G's roster for Tour 3 DPC:

  • Volodymyr "No[o]ne-" Minenko
  • Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen
  • Sébastien "Ceb" Debs
  • Adam "Aramis" Moroz
  • Kartik "Kitrak" Rathi

Old G tweaks its roster as the team head into Tour 3 DPC with a new player. The team's now-former offlaner, Resolut1on, departs from the lineup. Filling in the vacant spot is 22-year-old Israeli, Aramis. And seeing that Aramis is a position 4 player, we can assume Ceb returns to position 3 for the next Tour.

Old G takes over PuckChamp's DPC slot

Old G has ensured their reincarnation in the DPC by acquiring a slot from PuckChamp. The players including newly-signed Aramis recently registered under PuckChamp as seen on the Dota 2 Majors Registration page. This likely indicates that Old G had purchased PuckChamp's slot, allowing them to skip the lengthy Open Qualifiers and directly play in the DPC.

While buying slots is a normal occurrence in Dota 2, this particular case has an underlying drama. Only a day before, PGL, the tournament organizer for WEU DPC, disqualified Old G from WEU's Closed Qualifier.

This punishment follows Ceb's angry Tweet against the organizer which PGL deemed broke their rules of conduct. The penalty supposedly sent Old G to the Open Qualifiers. But by hook or by crook, Old G makes it into the DPC.
