Team Liquid becomes the second team to qualify for Lima Major and is one win away to securing first place in WEU DPC for 300 DPC points.
After dominating all of Western Europe Dota Pro Circuit (WEU DPC) and going 6-0, Team Liquid qualifies for Lima Major. They are the second team to qualify for the Major after Team Aster. They have only lost one game so far throughout the season and only have one game left to win in order to guarantee first place in the first tour of WEU DPC.
A stellar performance by Team Liquid throughout WEU DPC
The departure of Lasse "MATUMBAMAN" Urpalainen made room for another former Team Secret player Michał "Nisha" Jankowski. Just like his Secret days, Nisha plays as Liquid's midlaner, moving Michael "miCKe" Vu back to the carry role.
Having five players who made it to the top three of The International 2022 (TI11), Team Liquid was set with high expectations. Surely enough, they exceeded them by going 6-0 throughout the season. Arguably, their biggest achievement so far was beating TI11 champions Tundra Esports 2-0.
Team Liquid's one and only loss (thus far) was to Gaimin Gladiators. They lost in a shockingly funny manner too due to an unexpected Huskar mid pick by Gaimin. Alas Team Liquid remained steadfast and was still able to take down Gaimin despite their best efforts.
Team Liquid has earned an impressive head-to-head score of 12-1 and only needs one more win to win first place for this season's WEU DPC which would net them 300 DPC points.
Current state of Lima Major
Even though Team Liquid managed to qualify for the Lima Major, the state of the Major is looking a little bit uncertain as of now. With the ongoing political unrest in Peru, there is a chance that the Major gets postponed or even cancelled. 4D Esports, the South American DPC and Lima Major organizer insisted that the situation will have no effect on the Major and that the event will proceed.
Fans can only hope that the Major will in fact continue, especially since tickets have already been sold out for awhile now.
