Eight teams to battle it out

The final day of the PGL Wallachia 2024 Group Stage has now finalized the last few teams for the tournament. Joining the list of eight Playoffs teams are beastcoast, Nouns, and Infinity.

Beastcoast trounce Azure Ray

Azure Ray and beastcoast faced each other in the Round 5 with their tournament lives on the line. The first game saw Ame play the Bristleback and it was a game packed with action. With constant fights throughout the early and mid-game, the two teams were neck to neck for the most part. However, there was one big difference. While the two teams were trying to compete for victory, Alchemist was busy farming and getting crucial items up. And when the teamfights were on in full swing, Alchemist was the X factor for the team.

The second game was a Muerta show with LN dominating throughout the mid game and continuing through to the mid game and later. Overall, beastcoast seemed to be in control of the game. It was a slow but sure move towards victory for Wisper and co.

Invictus Gaming loses to nouns

The second elimination match of the final day of the Groups was between nouns and Invictus Gaming. Nouns had a clear advantage in both the maps, with a strong laning phase and using that momentum to secure the late game. Yuma was particularly impressive in securing key items in time to ensure he could participate in the team fights much before the opponent’s carry and provide that added advantage.

Nouns won the series 2-0, eliminating Invictus Gaming. A few days ago, G2 announced an end to their partnership with Invictus Gaming in Dota marking the end of a rather fruitful collaboration.

Alliance eliminated - but inspirational first Tournament

The final match of the day was between Alliance and Infinity. Alliance recently announced their re-entry into Dota with a relatively new roster. With Loda as the coach, the squad has all the requirements to make a deep dent and potentially surprise some well-established teams. In this tournament, Alliance fell short by just one game and are now eliminated from the event. However, they put up some stellar display and great performance.

Alliance had a great first game with a Drow, Willow and Bristleback combination. With Enchantress as the support, the team was already very tanky and it became near impossible for Infinity to out-tank the Alliance draft. The second game, however, saw Infinity pick up a Monkey King that tore through the Alliance Health Bars. The third game saw Infinity carry on their momentum to secure the series.

The PGL Wallachia Season 2 playoffs kick off on October 10 with eight of the teams competing in a double-elimination series.
