A mysterious player just overtook the throne on Dota 2’s European leaderboard.

The Dota 2 scene has patiently waited for the "next SumaiL" and that person may just be Satanic. A young carry player, who goes by the alias Satanic, has been making waves in the elite Dota 2 bubble. On February 19, Satanic overtook the throne on the European leaderboard, making a massive statement in the world's most competitive Dota 2 server.

Satanic overtakes watson for rank #1 on the EU leaderboard

The European leaderboard hosts the creme de la creme of the Dota 2 scene. It is by far the most competitive server in the world. The European leaderboard hosts the top players of Western Europe, Eastern Europe, and even Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

For a long time, Entity's watson, a renowned pubstar and pro player, reigned supreme in the European leaderboard. But a mysterious figure surpassed these Dota 2 elites including watson to dethrone him from the first position. This player currently goes by "King" but he is also known as Satanic, and sometimes Butterfly.

Satanic has hovered in the top 20 ranking for some time and the player has been the topic of discussion among the community. But with him clinching the rank #1 position in the concentrated region, Satanic bloomed even more under the limelight.

Who is Satanic in Dota 2?

Alan "Satanic" Galliamov is a 15-year-old prodigy, whose identity is very vague. The young player is said to be a Russian who has been living in Vietnam for more than nine years, according to escorenews. He is mostly active on VK and has a solid presence in the livestreaming world, collecting more than 16K followers on Twitch.

There are also rumors that the two-time The International (TI) winning organization, Team Spirit, has signed Satanic on its "second team". This team is likely the Yellow Submarine, the team that Team Spirit signed in 2020. Satanic has also played for Yellow Submarine since late 2023, making appearances in the qualifiers for ESL One Birmingham qualifier, DreamLeague Season 22, and more.

It is said that Satanic wants to focus on finishing his studies while Team Spirit continues supporting his professional growth. In the meantime, Satanic is Team Spirit's content creator, but as soon as he decides to dive in, we'll likely see a new prodigy bloom in Dota 2.
