The latest Steel Ball Run trailer gives fans a closer look at Johnny Joestar, Gyro Zeppeli, Diego Brando, and more!

Fans of Hirohiko Araki's JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (JJBA) series are getting a JJBA Steel Ball Run anime! The announcement was made on April 12 during the JOJODAY event. A new teaser trailer then dropped on Sept. 23. Read on for everything to know so far about the show, including the JJBA Steel Ball Run anime release date, trailers, and more!

JJBA Steel Ball Run anime release date

At the time of writing this article, the official website for the anime hasn't revealed an exact JJBA Steel Ball Run anime release date yet. However, we do know that it's slated for 2026.

Back in April 2025, the YouTube description for the first teaser trailer also confirmed that the anime was officially in production.

Speaking of the trailer, below is the first teaser video for the JJBA Steel Ball Run anime. The trailer features different protagonists being showcased in order throughout the years, starting with Jonathan before Joseph, Jotaro, Josuke, Giorno, and Jolyne. Then, the JJBA Steel Ball Run anime trailer gives us a closer look at none other than Johnny Joestar and Gyro Zeppeli! You can watch this trailer in full below.

Meanwhile, the latest teaser trailer features an even close look at Johnny Joestar and Gyro Zeppeli. It even gives us a sample of what to expect in terms of the voice acting. You can check it out for yourself below.

The aforementioned JOJODAY event featured the voice actors for Jonathan, Jotaro, and Jolyne alongside special video appearances from the voices of Joseph, Josuke, and Giorno. What made the celebration extra special was the confirmation of the JJBA Steel Ball Run anime, adding Johnny to the roster of animated protagonists.

Of course, JJBA Steel Ball Run wouldn’t be complete without a classic "jobro." Johnny’s trusted companion is Gyro Zeppeli. In JJBA Steel Ball Run, also known as JJBA Part 7 of the manga, the two travel across America in the Steel Ball Run race.

Along the way, Johnny uses his Stand, Gyro Zeppeli teaches him the Spin technique, they uncover Funny Valentine's plans, meet Diego Brando, and much more. We won't spoil everything, but the JJBA Steel Ball Run anime would likely follow the key moments of the manga, much like the other JJBA anime series before it.
