The first-ever NBA 2K23 esports tournament by FIBA will kick off soon! Here’s everything to know about eFIBA Season 1.

ESL FACEIT Group (EFG) and FIBA (International Basketball Federation) have announced eFIBA Season 1, which is FIBA’s official NBA 2K23 esports tournament. Read on for details.

NBA 2K23 esports and eFIBA Season 1

The NBA 2K23 esports event involves seven online regional tournaments across four FIBA regions. These include the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa. The games will kick off with the Regional Qualifiers before the Regional Finals. Below is the schedule for these NBA 2K23 esports tournaments:

Regional Qualifiers

  • Jan. 20: eFIBA 2023 Qualifiers Asia
  • Jan. 21: eFIBA 2023 Qualifiers Africa
  • Jan. 22: eFIBA 2023 Qualifiers Europe

Regional Finals

  • Jan. 24: eFIBA 2023 Finals Asia (Middle East & South East Asia)
  • Jan. 24: eFIBA 2023 Finals Africa
  • Jan. 25: eFIBA 2023 Finals Americas (North & South America)
  • Jan. 25: eFIBA 2023 Finals Europe

NBA 2K23 esports on the international level

Throughout eFIBA Season 1, 30 national federations grouped into six conferences will duke it out for the Conference Champions title. Each team competing in the NBA 2K23 esports event will consist of a minimum of five players. Here are the participants of the first-ever eFIBA season:

  • Americas: Argentina, Barbados, Brazil, and Puerto Rico.
  • Europe: Belgium, Cyprus, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, and Ukraine.
  • Asia: Qatar, Indonesia, Lebanon, Mongolia, Philippines, and Saudi Arabia.
  • Africa: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, Egypt, Ghana, Madagascar, Morocco, and Tunisia.

Which team will take the NBA 2K crown and bring home the glory? There's only one way to find out, which is through the official broadcasts. These can be watched on FIBA's Twitch and YouTube channels.

"We are excited about the upcoming tip-off of the eFIBA Season 1, FIBA's eBasketball tournament on NBA2K23, and our collaboration with EFG," Andreas Zagklis, secretary general at FIBA, said. "These upcoming seven tournaments will provide National Federations with the opportunity to compete against the best eBasketball national teams in the world, building on the momentum created from the FIBA Esports Open events in 2020 and 2021."
