Five World Tours at FV Major 2024: TEKKEN 8, DBFZ, and more

Big regional events, such as FV Major 2024, are interesting for two reasons. They give local players a chance to prove themselves on the international scene — as obviously, not everyone can afford trips to Evo.

Also, some world-level celebrities still attend these qualifiers to harvest standing points and earn invites to the global finals. This mix creates wonderful matches, spectacular to watch and educational for the growth in a game of your choice.

FV Major 2024 is exactly such a mix of local heroes unleashing their full power and guest celebrities demonstrating the top-most skill level.

Madkof had two confident wins in the winners semi and the final: against A25 KIVAT and Kami jones. Then, when he had to play Kami jones again, in the grand final, the match was much tougher. Madkof won only in the final game.

Madkof is the KOF XV champion at FV Major 2024. A direct invite to the SNK World Championship 2025 is his main reward.

While playing the family of Kiske, Tyurara faced Chipp of eto in the winners semi-final and Faust of Leo. in the final. Victorious, the player proceeded to the grand final.

Another Japanese player, Zenith, had a much more confident run in the winners brackets. He won against kiwi and Asher in the semi and the final. And then, Zenith defeated Tyurara in the grand final with a 3:0.

Zenith is the GBVS Rising champion at FV Major 2024.

Xanxus defeated Namul in the winners semi and FGO in the winners final. Namul got a successful run in the losers brackets, and made it to the grand final. He even reset the brackets! But in the decisive match, Xanxus recovered and struck back.

Xanxus is the winner of the DBFZ Power event at FV Major 2024.

ATIF defeated Infested in the semi-final and then played against THE JON in the winners final. Both times, the Evo 2024 grand finalist won with an impressive style.

The match between Dragunov and King happened again at the grand final. ATIF defeated THE JON one more time.

ATIF is the TEKKEN 8 champion at FV Major 2024.

The event features six games. In the schedule for FV Major 2024, we focus on the final parts only — the top 8 brackets for each game are the most intense.

Five games at FV Major 2024 have World Tour/Championship qualifiers. And one more game is part of the Road to Evo Japan 2025 series.

This is arguably the largest World Tour qualifier at the FV Major. The TEKKEN 8 tournament has the biggest number of registered attendees. And thanks to the close location to the strongest TEKKEN regions, some of the best players in the world get to compete at the FV Major.

This game has a dedicated community all over the world, and this Gold-tier qualifier gives Southeast Asian players a chance to earn precious standing points.

Guilty Gear Strive will be played on the most recent patch 1.38, introduced right after Evo 2024. This makes the FV Major tournament especially interesting.

Many strong Japanese players are attending the event, including Tyurara, the winner of Battle Arena Melbourne 14.

This is another game featured in the official league by Arc System Works. Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising at FV Major 2024 has a Gold qualifier, which means the top players will earn points for the global leaderboard.

The number of attendees is slightly smaller than for Guilty Gear Strive, but Tyurara has also registered for Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, as the player won BAM 14 for this game as well.

On the one hand, the current format of the SNK World Championship is weird. There are no standing points for top placements at big KOF XV tournaments. Instead, the winners of selected qualifiers got direct invites to the Finals like Xiaohai at Evo 2024. This, on the other hand, significantly increases the stakes at such events and motivates the best The King of Fighters XV players in the world to travel and fight for victory.

This tournament at FV Major 2024 is a qualifier for the SNK World Championship 2025. MadKOF, a well-known competitor from Korea, has registered for it, alongside some top-level TEKKEN players: CHANEL and THE JON.

The World Tour for Dragon Ball FighterZ was announced unexpectedly. For the community, it’s a wave of fresh energy in the competitive environment of their favorite game.

The tournament at FV Major 2024 has the highest tier among general qualifiers: it's a Power event. Many standing points can be won here, so top players will join the fights: Xanxus from the Philippines, Uchiha_FZ from Pakistan, and Novix from Australia, who qualified for World Tour Finals 2022-23.

A bit surprisingly, the Street Fighter 6 tournament at FV Major doesn’t have a global status. Still, it’s a very important event for the local Street Fighter 6 players, as part of the Road to EVO Japan 2025 for the Malaysia region only.
