Infiltration banned from EVO, CEO and Combo Breaker

Both tournaments state not adhering to their Code of Conducts as reasons for denying entry to the tournaments. Here’s what we know.

Lee "Infiltration" Seon-woo has recently been banned from EVO, CEO, and Combo Breaker this year. The former EVO champion posted pictures of emails on his Twitter on May 19th. The emails show that he has been banned from some of the biggest FGC events of the year. Infiltration was in a similar situation years ago in 2018, where he was banned from the Capcom Pro Tour and dropped from his then team, Panda Global because of domestic abuse.

Infiltration has been one of the FGC's hottest rising stars since his introduction to the scene with Street Fighter IV. He is a six time EVO champion, winning tournaments for both Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter V. Despite his status, Infiltration has been banned from multiple tournaments.

Both tournaments state not adhering to their Code of Conducts as reasons for denying entry to the tournaments. The response from the EVO support email says that other tournaments such as CEO, East Coast Throwdown, and the Intercontinental Fight Club also support this decision. These tournaments are some of the biggest that the FGC have to offer.

What happened?

Infiltration has also been banned from Twitch as well. This is likely due to a recent live stream where he said racial slurs and defended his right to say them. The clip that was circulating around Twitter has been deleted from Twitch.

Infiltration said on his Twitter that he will release a statement about these issues soon. It seems as though controversy will continue to define Infiltration's career. We at esports.gg will continue to watch and follow the course of events as they proceed. Be sure to check on this article and esports.gg for any updates on the situation.
