Mortal Kombat fans won’t have to wait another year for MK12 as a 2023 release is revealed!

Mortal Kombat 12 is set for a 2023 launch according to a Warner Bros. Discovery earnings call on Feb. 2023. The shock reveal was posted publicly in a tweet by content creator Brusk Poet.

In the call, Warner Bros. Discovery representatives stated that “And there’s lots more to come, between the highly-anticipated Mortal Kombat 12 and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, games also set for release this year with ambitious launch projections.”

While not the hype announcement we might have expected, revelation is still a pleasant surprise for Mortal Kombat fans who were only sure that MK12 existed. This was thanks to tweets by NetherRealm creative officer Ed Boon, who confirmed that Injustice 3 and MK12 were in the works.

When will Mortal Kombat 12 release?

We don’t have an exact date, and given that this information is an earnings call, we can only speculate. However, that also gives us a hint that the release will affect 2023 financials, and as a result, may be aiming for a Winter 2023 release.

This would certainly line up with the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which was revealed yesterday, and is reportedly due for a late 2023 release as well.

There was no word, however, on fellow fighting game, and Warner Bros. Discovery IP, Injustice 3. While Ed Boon’s tweets hinted at its existence, it wasn’t mentioned on the earnings call and is probably being scheduled to avoid clashing with MK12 and the Suicide Squad game.
