There’s no good news here; the Arcane Fortnite skins are on the shelf indefinitely.

The Arcane Fortnite skins, based on League of Legends characters Jinx and Vi, have been absent from the game for over 1,000 days. Despite fans hoping they would return in due time, Riot Games co-founder Marc Merrill says that won't happen "for the foreseeable future."

While not the response many expected, an update is better than silence, and players eager to acquire the Arcane skins can lower their expectations for now.

"We haven't been able to find the right fit," says Riot Games co-founder

Unfortunately, the explanation doesn't instill the most confidence in those who have waited more than 1,000 days to purchase the Arcane Fortnite skins. Merrill explained that, although conversations took place between Riot and Epic, the two parties have not been able to find the right fit to bring them back.

He further elaborated that these skins will not be returning for the foreseeable future. The wording used is puzzling, considering Arcane's second and final season aired this past November. That would have been the perfect time to bring Jinx and Vi back into the game.

Merrill ended his 'X' post, showing appreciation to those who love the skins and want them back. However, they will remain sidelined for the time being.

How has the community responded to the Arcane Fortnite skins not returning?

The response by the community speaks volumes to the confusing nature of Marc Merrill's statement. Many have rightfully pointed out that Arcane Season 2 would have been the best time to bring the Fortnite skins back, but that didn't happen.

'X' user N3OCK1 pointed out that there's no real rhyme or reason for when Fortnite collaborations come to fruition. Chapter 6 Season 2 alone has featured crossovers with Mortal Kombat, Cowboy Bebop, Adventure Time, and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

Cosmetics rotate in and out of the Item Shop on a weekly basis without following a specific theme. Therefore, the explanation didn't answer the question of why these skins have remained absent for over three years.

Why do players want these skins so bad?

In Fortnite, it's natural to desire the rarest skins. Previously, it was Renegade Raider before it returned, and the Arcane skins have now fallen into that category. Three years is a long time not to see a skin appear in the Item Shop, so fans are desperate to add Jinx and Vi to their collections.
