The Squid Game collaborations launches in Fortnite on June 27.
Epic Games has confirmed the hit TV show Squid Game is coming to Fortnite. This collaboration emerged during the State of Unreal event, where Epic Games provided additional updates on the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) tool.
While imitation Squid Game experiences have appeared in the game over the past few years, this marks the first official crossover. Epic Games followed the announcement with a teaser, but many of the details are under wraps.
What can I expect from the Squid Game x Fortnite crossover?
The State on Unreal 2025 event confirmed the Squid Game "creator tools" will arrive on June 27—the same day that the series' third season lands on Netflix. Beyond the release date, Epic Games kept the specifics to a minimum.
However, it's safe to assume that UEFN creators will have the chance to create their own maps based on the popular show. That likely means the deadly games such as Red Light, Green Light, Tug of War, and Glass Stepping Stones will be available in some capacity.

Will there be any skins and cosmetics available during this partnership?
For once, Call of Duty already beat Fortnite to this punch on this collaboration. Squid Game notably appeared in Season One Reloaded to promote the show's second season. This crossover included skins based on the guards as well as characters Niran, Maya, and the Front Man.
With all that considered, it's worth wondering whether Squid Game cosmetics may or may not come to Fortnite. The Call of Duty crossover could have some exclusivity baked into it, but that much is unclear.
Fortnite and Call of Duty have previously collaborated on similar projects, including The Walking Dead, Tomb Raider, Dune, and John Wick/Ballerina. As a result, it's reasonable to think that Squid Game-based skins could be coming as part of this partnership. We should learn more in the lead-up to June 27.
Players and fans react to Fortnite's latest crossover
Players, fans, and content creators filled up Fortnite's Squid Game teaser with overwhelming positivity. Some theorized whether this would be strictly UEFN-based, while others requested specific characters to be added as playable skins.
This feels like an excellent crossover for Fortnite, considering the possibilities. Although players have already created Squid Game-inspired experiences in the game, this is the real thing.
