Fortnite FNCS Major 3 Grand Finals: All winners and best storylines

The dust has settled following an intense two-day marathon in the 2024 Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) Major 3 Grand Finals. This tournament offered more than just the massive $2 million prize pool. It also provided players their final opportunity to qualify for the $2 million FNCS Global Championship LAN this September. With the stakes at their highest, here is how the FNCS Major 3 Grand Finals played out.

Now, let's cover some of the best storylines to come out of the weekend.

It was a foregone conclusion in Chapter 5 Season 2, that top NA players Peterbot and Pollo would win FNCS Major 2. Sure enough, the two proceeded to win 5 of 12 games en route to a record-breaking 1,092-point performance. While Peterbot and Pollo were in the discussion to contend for another win in Major 3, the rhetoric was not as compelling.

Although fan favorites Clix and Veno led after day one, the Major 2 Champions rallied on day two, winning one match and maintaining an average placement of 8.50. The leaderboard remained tight until the closing moments, but fourth place in the final match sealed the deal for Peterbot and Pollo, who became back-to-back FNCS Champions.

It's no secret that Fortnite superstar Clix has accomplished a lot throughout his lengthy career. However, the Axe of Champions and that career-defining FNCS title have eluded him. After splitting with former duo EpikWhale, Clix teamed with top European player Veno following his move stateside. Day one of FNCS Major 3 concluded with the Fortnite fan favorites leading the way.

Unfortunately, the pair steadily slid down the leaderboard despite playing well while others moved up. The promising duo found themselves in fourth when all was said and done. Although Clix is still searching for his first FNCS win, he'll have a chance to do so on LAN at the FNCS Global Championship in September.

Major 1 winners Acorn and Cold are arguably the best duo in the world not named Peterbot and Pollo. The pair's consistency secured them the FNCS Major 1 victory and a fifth-place finish in Major 2. It was shocking to see Acorn and Cold struggle on day one of Major 3, having amassed just 76 points and finishing in 31st. However, as the best duos normally can, Acorn and Cold rallied on day two.

Across the final six matches, this tandem earned two Victory Royales and vaulted up 28 spots on the leaderboard. It's safe to say Acorn and Cold are in the discussion to contend and potentially win the FNCS Global Championship.

With many top European stars migrating to North America for Major 3, the European region became somewhat desolate. Regardless, the top remaining players delivered an incredible finale led by first-time winners Vico and Flickzy. After establishing a day one lead, this duo had to maintain the same consistency level if they hoped to become Major 3 Champions.

Unsurprisingly, the other top European duos would not go quietly. Major 2 Champions t3eny and Chap proved to be Vico and Flickzy's most challenging obstacle. These two won two matches across the final six games but ultimately finished 11 points behind Vic0 and Flickzy.

There's an argument to be made that Kalgamer and 7man are the best Fortnite duo in the non-Europe and North American regions. In Chapter 5 alone, their track record includes a win in Major 1, a second-place finish in Major 2, and, most recently, another win in Major 3. Having already secured their spot in the Global Championship, another victory was unnecessary but an incredible outcome nonetheless.

They improved from 7th on day one to 1st on day two, winning back-to-back matches and earning 908 points overall. It will be interesting to see how Kalgamer and 7man stack up against the field in Fort Worth, Texas, for the Global Championship.
