Fortnite delayed the May 15 update one day for unknown reasons. Here is what we know about the situation and what may be the cause.

Despite outlining all Fortnite: Galactic Battle season updates, Epic Games has delayed the May 15 patch. Fortunately, you won't have to wait much longer; the next update will launch tomorrow, May 16. Dubbed "Chew on This," tomorrow's patch will add another layer to the already complex Star Wars experience.

This article outlines Fortnite's recent delays and what you can expect when the May 16 update arrives.

Why was the May 15 update delayed?

Epic's reasoning for pushing the update to May 16 is unknown. The Fortnite Status account on X indicated that the v35.10 patch would land one day later than initially intended. Some have surmised this could be related to Epic's ongoing application to add Fortnite back to iOS in the United States.

However, we likely won't know anytime soon. It is worth mentioning that Epic Games has reportedly delayed a few other Fortnite updates. The General Grievous Battle Pass tab will unlock on May 16 instead of May 15, which was initially the plan.

Leaker ShiinaBR reported that Sabrina Carpenter's Festival season may last three more days and end on June 20 instead of June 17. While this may be iOS-related, we likely won't know until Tim Sweeney or another member of Epic discusses the situation.

What can I expect when the Chew on This update drops?

When the delay finally concludes on May 16, the Chew on This update will mark the arrival of Chewbacca on the Island. With him, the loveable Wookiee brings his signature Bowcaster weapon for all players to enjoy. Furthermore, a new weapon, the CA-87 Blaster, used primarily by the Jawas, will follow suit.

Battle Pass holders can also begin working through the General Grievous tab on May 16. Despite Fortnite delaying the May 15 update, the wait is minimal and will be worthwhile. Less than one month remains until the Star Wars season concludes, so you had better play now before it's too late.
