Players will now be required to hit this specific level before competing in any cash prize tournaments.

Following its release of Chapter 5, Season 4, Fortnite is now requiring players who want to compete in cash prize tournaments to be level 350 or higher. This is a big win for the competitive community as it helps remove any smurf accounts within big tournaments.

Players have to be level 350 or higher to compete in cash prize tournaments

With people "smurfing" during tournaments in the past, this new rule will help keep competition fair and equal. What is smurfing? Smurfing is when you create a low-level account to compete in lobbies much lower than your normal skill level.

Requiring players to be level 350 or higher now prevents people from making a new account just before a tournament to play in low-level lobbies.

This has been a huge problem in Fortnite for quite some time now. Requiring a higher level to compete will not only remove smurfing but also will keep competition much heavier in the future.

And no, this is not your level per season. It is the accumulation of levels you gain over every season. If you have been playing the game for just the last year or two, you will most likely be well over level 350.

Will other Fortnite tournaments require players to be at level 350?

If you are just a casual competitive player, and mainly just want to play skin cups and more, you will not have to get to level 350 to compete. Luckily, Fortnite has made it to where those who want to play tournaments that do not have a cash prize will only have to reach level 50.

This is a much lower requirement than cash prize tournaments, giving those who only casually play the game a chance to compete, too.
